They might be remembering the time when they played the Point in front of, like, 8 people. They came back and played the Masquerade after that at some point and drew better, but...that's gotta be a painful memory.Brian wrote:what the fuck do they hate about Atlanta so much?
they haven't played here in like 15 years
i remember seeing destruction upstairs at the masq with maybe 20 other people... and they still came back, and to a good crowd last time i might add.

What the fuck?! Moonsorrow skips us again...honestly though I'm not a Swallow the Sun or Finntroll fan and I'd rather see Moonsorrow headline but this is their 2nd US tour and still no Atlanta.V-GER wrote:Looks like Atlanta is missed on the Finnish Metal Tour with Finntroll, Moonsorrow and Swallow The Sun. Agian, maybe more dates will be added.

Yep, it's because Jaxx is a good "pivoting point" for tours to head west or north if they just don't want to hit the Southeast at all. Sometimes they'll delve as deep as North Carolina or maybe Greenville/Spartanburg, but Atlanta often gets left out.Generubin wrote:I hate when they announce a US tour and they don't come anywhere near you. I mean seriously, I can't believe I won't be able to see Overkill and Finntroll. I wish I lived near Springfield in Virginia. It seems like that place always gets the best shows.
As much as that sucks for us, consider how much worse it is if you're an 'underground' metal fan in, say, Miami?
Yeah I'm glad I moved here before I got into metal. I used to live 20 minutes away from Miami.WREKage-Paul wrote:Yep, it's because Jaxx is a good "pivoting point" for tours to head west or north if they just don't want to hit the Southeast at all. Good points. When I see stuff like this I often wonder if it has anything to do with Atlanta's...let's say less than enthusiastic at times support for Metal. It's weird to me how some shows are so packed but others for bands that are equally good or better (and I would think equally popular) are just barren. I know a lot of that has to do with marketing on the parts of the label as well as the promoters but still...at the end I see a lot of apathy at the audience end of things as well. People here just really don't seem to give a damn a lot of the time.WREKage-Paul wrote:Yep, it's because Jaxx is a good "pivoting point" for tours to head west or north if they just don't want to hit the Southeast at all. I think the Miami area was decent for shows. When I'd visit my friend down there we'd go to Ft. Lauderdale for shows, but yeah, he had to make the drive to Tampa, Orlando and even Atlanta for some shows.GameFreac wrote:Yeah I'm glad I moved here before I got into metal.
