I'm going to be there... friends told me great things about Vader live, and since i'm off that day and they're going, why not? Only band i'm not really into much are The Amenta, but maybe they'll sound better live.

I'm gonna try to be there. My manager at work has been anal -- well, more than usually anal -- about requesting even an hour off here and there.

I wanted to go to Florida to visit my cousins for Christmas (I do every year pretty much) and I overheard my manager complaining to like 3 people on the phone about how payroll is screwed up and there's not enough money for all the employees this month.

So I picked my spot, was in the right place at the right time and said "Hey if you need help with payroll, I can go to Florida for a week! That will save you some money!" Then I gave her the double thumbs up and I think it went well. I asked off and she seemed cool about it.

Good thinking man! I can't wait for this show tonight. Finally seeing Vader is going to be the shit.

I ended up not going.

Thanks to a damned tornado warning at, like, 4:30am this morning -- the Atlanta metro area's only overnight tornado warning, and it happens to be over MY little podunk county -- I woke up, couldn't get back to sleep for a half-hour, and felt like shit the whole rest of the day.

And I didn't 'escape' from work until later anyway, so I'd have missed at least half of the show. :(

Vader was excellent. Played a shorter set than I expected, about 45 minutes. I was really impressed with Decrepit Birth. They were good and fun. Axial Discorrelation was good too. That band Rose Funeral who weren't on the bill were fucking terrible.

HA! I liked Rose Funeral. In fact I bought their CD. As soon as Cannibal Corpse retires they can take over for them.

Am I crazy or was that the lowest attendance ever? And what happened to Warbringer?

Also, doing the soundcheck in Polish was HOTT and Piotr is tiny in real life. Tiny and awesome.

Was a great show. First time seeing all these bands too! But a bit disappointed to not see Warbringer and SWWAATTS. It seems that Warbringer started a short tour with Megadeth. I guess thats a good reason to skip us, hahahaha! Swashbuckle wasn't to bad. The music was pretty killer but this happy pirate metal shit is a bit ridiculous. I talked to the singer at the merch stand and he was kind of a dick. I told him I thought they were a dirtier, thrashier much better version of Alestorm. He looked at me funny and said he compares themselves to a dirtier, thrashier Running Wild. I then said you call yourselves pirate metal right? He kind of rolled his eyes this coming from a guy who has a stuffed parrot on his shoulder and a blowup palmtree on stage, come on man! Augury were good but they were missing half of their band and the ones guys amp blew up. They made the best of it then. The Amenta were very good. Kind of industrial death metal. Rose Funeral were ok. Good comparison Diana! These bands though have to stop asking the crowd to mosh or get fucking going. It's looking pretty lame. The best surprise of the night was Decrepit Birth. The looked like a homeless dude but on stage he was killer! Almost looks like a skinny Jesus with dreadlocks. Great show from them. Vader was awesome too and yes it seemed like they played a shorter set. Also the turnout was the worst I have seem since I have been here. Although a few more people showed in time for the last two bands. My photobucket account is acting up show no pic's for now. A big hail to all the regular metalheads, you know who you are...................\m/

Uhm yeah, I guess that is a good reason to blow off Atlanta. Godspeed to you, Warbringer!!

You told me the lead singer for Decrepit Birth looked homeless. That is an understatement -- dude is a straight Ponce All-Star. Super nice and one-lovey and all that, but would not be uncomfortable in the dumpster behind La Fonda.

Bill is actually homeless (if you wanna call it that). He lives in a tent by the beach and smokes weed all day with his dog when not on tour.

Haha what? They sound nothing like Cannibal! And you snuck up on me last night! I was walking back to my car, heard someone behind say, "It got cold fast," turned around and saw you dart by when one second ago there was nobody there haha.

Haha I consider Running Wild the granddaddies of pirate metal!! That's probably why he gave you that response. I should check these guys out now. Missed their set.
