Christian Mistress killed it last night! I was very impressed.
I liked Uberchrist too. Essentially it was black metal and often I don't like black metal, but I liked this. The bassist I'd seen at shows before.
Thrones was good, but I doubt I have a need to see him perform again. I stuck around for the whole set, so hey I must have liked it.
Whores went on after 1 so I had to split. Very good turnout for a Tuesday night.

I didn't expect much with that name, but I was really blown away by Uberchrist. Fucking killer simple black metal that had a lot of atmosphere without being "atmospheric black metal," if that makes sense. The bass player is also in, I think, Let the Night Roar, plus some other bands. The only thing I didn't like was the singer/guitarist's big white sneakers. Kinda took me out of the vibe, if that makes any sense. Good shit and I'll try to catch them any time I can.
Christian Mistress were fucking amazing live. And no problems with the vocals being too loud, at least where I was up by stage left. I wish they had been turned up a bit more, but not to the level that there are at on the album and, to a lesser extent, on the demo. Such a killer band, I just wish it was easier to keep up with them given their sincere anti-web presence stance. Anyone got a suggestion on this?
Thrones was not my thing at all. I'm not into that super slow vibe and especially when done by a one man band. It may have been quite good if you like that stuff; I'm not a good judge.
Whores were on way too late for me.
Nice to meet Sleyja. Charming bloke.

So it wasn't just me! I thought the vocals could have been louder too. I was up front on stage right and figured I needed to stand more in the middle and back to hear the vocals better.badcarburetor wrote:Christian Mistress were fucking amazing live. As far as web stuff, they told me all they have is a webpage with an email address on it. But it looks like they do post tour dates and news.

Gotcha. I tried to ask about the "undercut" thing as politedly as possible. It was difficult. I think I know who you are are. I have red hair, but much more muted than the chick you are talking about.ratanda wrote:Haha no, I have black hair and sometimes mistaken for Mexican. I almost asked if you had bright red hair, but that person was on the other side of the stage.
