the only one that played here twice this year was megadeth. slayer and anthrax did once, and it was on the second show. metallica hasnt played here since 2009. i dont see how anyone could bitch about this, unless you are a bitch of course.

I would be in a heart beat if they played only the 80's era releases. At least doing of them would be enough.

I'm cautiously excited about this. Haven't seen 'Tallica in a LONG time and it'd be nice to see them maybe one more time. (At one time Tim H. and I had....History....with Metallica, but never mind.)

And yeah, I'd pass out "play old shit" signs for all four bands, too. FTM, they could swap out Anthrax for Testament and I wouldn't complain.

Metallica plays mostly old stuff live anyway.
Slayer still rules...they will never stop ruling. Slayer is the epitome of ruleage.
Even though Mustaine sounds like Michael Jackson when doing the highs now, dude can still shred.
Anthrax is god-tier thrash.

I know it's all 'edgy' and 'kvlt' to hate on these bands but they're all great. Each and every one of them.

True. No band with as long a history as these has made nothing but perfect albums. But I love em just the same with their faults and all.

FWIW, I love SLAYER and Anthrax. Both have an album or 2 I don't get into, but in general I love their music and catch them live any time I can.

Megadave is indeed an awesome guitarist and used to be a great songwriter. I've never been a huge fan of his vocals, but at least he's unique. And he is writing better music now than he has in a loooooong time so he gets an E for effort!

Metallica... I don't hate them. I really don't. I just refuse to give them my money. For one thing, they don't need it. For another, words just can't even express my disappointment in them. If your favorite Metal band ever hires Bon Jovi's producer and becomes a rock band, maybe you'll understand.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

Cool. I can keep that $120 or whatever it'll cost for cheap seats in my pocket and spend it on Darkthrone re-issues with Fenriz commentary laid over the top. Win-win.

*edit* I just looked at the Blabbermouth article. This bullshit is being held at a place called a "Polo Club." That's just precious. I bet dollars to doughnuts that Lars is now a "polo enthusiast."

"You've probably heard us all say it … the vibe was just so incredible at last year's Big 4 shows that we can't stop now!!!"
Sooooo we'll just do one more show and THEN stop.

im probably a bitch then. but i'm pretty sure metallica played here last year. maybe it was the year before. i could care less about them so i'm not even worried about the last time they played. i guess the second slayer gig i was thinking of was the one that got cancelled
