They better not come back in greater numbers.

Noticed that The Shrine has been added as support. Check em out. I'm super excited for this show; don't let this mess of a thread deter you.

No, they are from somewhere in Southern California. Last time they came through here they were support for Fu Manchu.

I just checked the Masquerade page and don't see anyone on the bill except Graveyard. Is The Shrine definitely on it? I'm way into their album now. It reminds me a lot of post-Damaged, but pre-Jazz Oddyssey Black Flag with a touch of what made Annihilation Time so awesome.

Found it on bandcamp. It ain't no Annihilation Time... but then again what is?! and this rocks plenty on it's own merits, diggin' it and would def see live if I had a drivers license.

No doubt. AT was a one-off of brilliance. I checked the follow up band (can't think of the name at the moment.) and it was OK, but I was so hoping for more AT that it was hard to judge it as its own thing.

To me, AT always sounded like Black Flag playing Skynyrd covers at speed. No one ever agrees with that summary, but it's exactly what it sounded like to me.

For now, I'm just pretty stoked on the Shrine album.

Yeeaaaahhhh... i can't recall that post-AT band either but I remember feeling along the same lines... just couldn't live up to it's predecessor.

I think you described AT on here one time similarly but used Molly Hatchet instead of Skynyrd which I think is a little more accurate to my ears but yeah, i agree... they had that kind of swagger, for lack of a better term, that both Hatchet and Skynyrd captured, especially on MH's and LS's more upbeat numbers.

I'd say Black Flag channeling Iommi through Molly Hatchet covers on speed.

Yeah, my bad. I did mean Hatchet. I've been overdosing on Second Helping, I suppose. Got that mean "Working for MCA" groove in my head.
