Was a pretty cool show. Ancalagon started super strong, then Luis broke a string, after the pause to switch guitars there seemed to be some momentum loss, but a solid set for sure. Ectovoid was super tight and Chuck was a mad man as always, I'd like to see their guitarist get a bigger amp, to add volume and make it a real power trio. I watched Wormreich, was glad to see Scully get to play a legit show, he's been trying to get back on stage for years. They were not mind blowing, but not bad either, I'll support them because it's always good to see active black metal bands. I stayed for Ritual Decay, who was really good, totally solid stuff. Left before Vimur, was catching wife aggro. All the other bands were kinda lame and I don't even remember their names or who they were.
Was a lot of unfamiliar faces in the crowd, it was kinda weird.

I was bummed that I missed the Ectovoid set.
Caught a couple of songs by Wormreich, which I enjoyed enough.
Missed Epoch of Unlight and Process of Suffocation entirely. I never realized that there was so much metal in Memphis.
Ritual Decay was something -- never seen them before. I'll be checking them out. My impression, knowing little about them, was that there was some Katharsis going on in there.
Vimur put on a great set. I'm looking forward to hearing something from them on vinyl.
I was thinking about it, and the last time I saw a fight at a show was at the Scion festival, when a skinhead randomly clocked a guy next to me during 1349's set. The strange think about this one was that the guy who threw the first punch later went up and shook the hand of the guy from Wormreich.
