But nah, it was great. A lot of good sets.

I didn't get the same vibe you got for Thantifaxath, they were enjoyable though. It *almost* reminded me of Esoterics 'build up' and Hate Eternals note juggling/chugging--but Black Metal instead. It's weird, but if you think about it, it kinda makes sense.

I didn't really have a 'HOLY SHIT TOP BAND!', but not due to poor sets, there were just several top tier performances.

Some of the highlights:

Morpheus Descends
Cianide
Bulldozer
Tsjuder
Drawn and Quartered
Masacre
Demoncy

We went by to check out Cianide merch, I asked if they had a 'Dying Truth' shirt. Seans Donut Doppelganger said they had Deathgasm do some awhile back--I told him we went by Evans house and that he didn't have any left in my size, we chit-chatted slightly and I told him to tell Evan to bring them to Atlanta.

There was also a guy wearing an Undertaker backpatch, while watching Skepticism front N center. That was the most fitting view I've ever witnessed.

Scott and I drank pina coladas. They were fucking delicious.

Oh, and Impetuous Ritual had three Conan the Barbarians onstage.

The pina coladas were delicious.

Highlights for me:

Friday: Vallenfyre, Cianide, Obituary, Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult
Saturday: Triptykon, Razor
Sunday: Thantifaxth

Pissed that I missed Prosanctus Inferi, Tsjuder, and Vattnett Viskar. A combination of oversleeping in the case of P.I. and fatigue in the latter two.

Rumor had it (that is, Snodgrass told me) that Aeturnus played a great set. Missed that, too.

Vallenfyre: "When we formed this band in 2010, it was our dream to play a parking lot in Baltimore."

Random conversation from this weekend, while I was waiting to talk Vanja and Norman from Triptykon:

Other older dude: It's alright, most of the bands I listen to don't speak English, anyway.
Me: Oh?
Other older dude: yeah, like Vader and Behemoth.
Me (thinking I'd carry the conversation further): And Graveland?
Other older dude: ... who?
Me (thinking there is some trouble with the accent, perhaps): Graveland?
Other older dude: uh ... (*stares blankly*) ... no.
Me: Oh.

That is exactly how the conversation awkwardly ended. I was the black metal elitist asshole and didn't even mean to be.

Apt description. Those lengthy crescendos really do it for me. I was thinking along the lines of Ulcerate meets S.V.E.S.T. through an Esoteric-ish filter...I think.

Oooh, not good Knuck. Maybe next time. And I guess it's news to you that only two metal bands have ever come out of Poland, neither one understanding a word of the King's English

Sounds like a good time was had by most. Hated to miss it this year.

I find it most convenient to blame Cody.

Special thanks to Nyarlathotep for sending live photos of Tsjuder. I can't stop crying.

It was good. My favorite part of their performance was the vocalist playing the air violin.
