Dead Congregation is cancelling as well... glad I didn't put forth the effort to try and go to this.

Root was the real pull for me.

So glad I didn't take time off, time up funds, book a plane ticket...

Sounds like this promotoer is pretty fucking negligent, unless I'm missing something?

Ten more bands can drop and this lineup will still be one of the most anticipated events I've attended in the last ten years. My favorite of the fest dropped months ago and I'm still really, really looking forward to this.

ugh I now feel like Tribulation is going to cancel and I would hate to spend all this money for one band a few others that I'm only interested in seeing.

From what I understand the promoter shouldn't have tried to bit off more then he could chew.

There are still lots of good bands....if I didn't have this last minute issue come up, I'd still be stoked. I mean, you still have Demigod, Inquisition, Pagan Altar, Cruciamentum, Vasaeleth, Stargazer, Adorior, Igniviomous...still about 30-40 left who are worthwhile.

I can get over it and see Inquisition at the Masquerade. I could start saving for MDF which at this point is starting to have a better line-up. Plus Demigod and Morgoth are at MDF.

Electric Wizard, Autopsy, Napalm Death, Suffocation, Nasum, Brujeria, Agalloch, Anvil, Archgoat, Artillery, Church of Misery, Demigod, Dodheimsgard, Ghoul, Morgoth, Negura Bunget, Tsjuder, Winter, Deviated Instinct, Haemorrhage, Infernal Stronghold, Interment, Black Withery, Macabre. There are only a few bands that Rites will definitely have that MDF doesn't have, so if someone reading this wants to help me save for MDF I welcome them to offer their best price.

Ugh, I won't deny it's a tough choice. I'm laying out the pros and cons of the festivals and at the moment Rites does just have a few more bands I would be psyched to see. I should probably wait to see who else drops off before I make any decision.

apparently the dude who booked all these bands was just too ambitious (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) when booking all these awesome foreign bands. Either he miscalculated the costs or he just didn't think it through because bringing them over is going to be frikkin expensive! He should do what MDF has done, just gradually build it up instead of going from small to really big. I hope this fest works out for the fans, remaining bands, and the dude who is trying to make this happen.
