That shit was bizarre.kfoll wrote:I was wondering if Alan was going to get around to telling that Ralph Santolla story haha. He's a really serious guy, it seems -- he was all business even when we all wanted to get all fangirl/fanboy on his ass. LOLZ.
Basically as the room was starting to clear out and I was standing there with Kelly, Amanda and Amanda's guy (whose name I'm flaking on atm), Ralph Santolla comes walking up to me looking like I owed him money or something. He goes, "Dude, I really liked your band..." (I started to thank him for the lovely compliment, when he continued), "But what's up with that girl who was with you?" Thinking he meant our singer's wife (who was working our merch table), I was like..."Huh?"
The girl in question was some chick in an orange skirt and a camo Arsis shirt. I had met her earlier that day. She seemed nice enough. She was there (inside) when we got to the club and I had assumed she was with Carnifex as she was hanging out with them most of the evening... Anyway, she did tell me that she had heard us online and that it would be her first time seeing us. Apparently Ralph saw her hanging out by our merch table so he assumed she was with us.
Anyway, I told him as much and he kinda seemed like he didn't believe me. Apparently she had gone into their dressing room and helped herself to their beer. I don't know how she got back there, but I asked him later if she was claiming she was with us and he said no.
So he goes on to tell me to "Be careful who we associate with because while he really liked our band, this shit made him not want to play with us again." Like Kelly said, he was all Serious Business... Thankfully that was about the point that people were starting to walk up and tell him they loved him so all was well.
That was one of many strange and amusing things that happened that night... Good times.
