haha word, especially if the keyboard is essential in the music.

Gene's review:

First band took pride when I compared them to Bring Me The Horizon.

Lectures Nocturne (or w/e their name is, too lazy to look it up) was okay

The blackened deathcore band is no longer trying to be deathcore. They're trying to be blackened metal as fuck.

Hate was Behemoth

Melechesh ruled

Rotting Christ was okay but I left early because I thought they were boring.

Melechesh was pretty good. I wished that I would have known their material better.

I left before Rotting Christ, but I really enjoyed Melechesh. The song from Sphynx they played (was it Triangular Tattvic Fire?) was especially good. Hate was actually surprisingly good--I hadn't listened to them because all I kept hearing about them is that you might as well listen to Behemoth, but these boys put on a really tight show. Such tasteful breakdowns that I couldn't stop headbanging too.

Sat out for abigail, who sounded pretty bad... playing black metal over haunted house music doesn't really work for me. Lecherous Nocturne were pretty good from the 2 songs I heard.

Also, that skinny black dude in the pit was annoying as fuck. If you are reading this, you're an idiot.

I hate that I agree with this. That was the one band I really wanted to see. They're not the no frills WWIII/Empire band that they used to be. Disappointed, but not surprised I guess.

My ears have been ringing since the Phobia/Wormrot show in September. I regret not wearing earplugs to the last 40+ shows. :(

I had fun at this show. It was cool seeing all you dudes again as usual!

Yeah I think the guy who wanted to get in the pit so badly was the same guy who tried to get my number

I never really listened to Abigail Williams but I did like what I heard last night. I think I have the advantage because I have never listened to their material before the show last night. I do like me some black metal...yeah, it's not exactly a kvlt or grim band but whatever!

And yes, Hate was Behemoth. But Behemoth is good therefore Hate was good. Melechesh was awesome! Nuff said right there. Same goes for Rotting Christ imo. I did get 2 of them to sign my cd covers I was showing you guys lol

I would have like Hate better if they played only a song or two. Same with Melechesh, but three or four songs would have satisfied me.

Though I was unfamiliar with every song Rotting Christ played but one I thought they did well. I was annoyed that they didn't play anything from A Dead Poem though.

I didn't see ya! Damnnn....

Yea, same here. The new album is a lot different from their prior one, more old-skool black metally. I like it. Didn't see their set this time as I had to get down there from work but I'd seen them before and thought they were decent.
And yes, Hate was Behemoth. But Behemoth is good therefore Hate was good.
That's pretty much what we were saying. I didn't know anything about them going in but I thought they were tight and good at, basically, being Behemoth. :)

Very happy to finally see them...hope they come back around soon!

Wish I could have stuck around for Rotting Christ-- oh, wait, I could have. I left in a huge hurry to get to WREKage before midnight...and discovered that Tech's baseball game was running wayyy late. On the upside, we had 211 dumbfounded baseball listeners on the live-streaming when WREKage started up.
