Why do I have the feeling that this isn't going to happen?

106 GOING on the I_LOVE_ZUCKERPENIS event page less than three weeks after announcing. Yes, the venue asked me to move the date for reasons between me and the venue.

Word is spreading. And like Brian said - if you can't get off your dead ass and pay $12-$16 for a helluva lineup (bands you won;t likely see here again until they make it BIG) at an amazing venue with FREE PARKING, In & Out priveleges, great food, smoker & non-smoker friendly, then you may as well sit ITP and watch fucking BLACKGUARD for the umpteenth time. Then wonder what everyone's talking about AFTER you missed it:

Pathfinder MetalFest IV (which I'm sure most everyone on this forum missed)

7 bands is a fest? I'll definitely be there to see Raven but the other bands dont sound too appealing.

I just know, between a band name like Dark Empire and this video, this show is going to have great openers.

there are shows I've seen posted with only four bands called a 'fest'. It's not the number of bands you have, but what you make of it. And if you think the other bands don;t sound too appealing, spend a few minutes researching each one. You might be surprised.

I strive to put together hi-caliber traditional heavy metal acts that mesh well on stage and who can potentially make a few new fans. This particular show started off with finding a date for Burning Shadows and Dark Empire. And it then grew to what it is.

After speaking with RAVEN concerning a future date and subsequently finding out directly from Mark Gallagher that they have never played Atlanta, I knew I had to bring them here at some point. I mentioned the date for this show I was putting together, and they agreed to perform because it makes sense for them as they are finalizing a DVD that should be out in December. They are genuinely excited about debuting in metro Atlanta, and I couldn't be happier.

and for those wondering earlier in this thread about their abilities on stage, I'd put them up against any bands half their age! Check out this video if you doubt me:

then I'm guessing you have never been to a 'tour package' show at the Masquerade before. I just counted about five shows with 7 or more acts between now and the end of the month on the Masquerade calendar.

The Pathfinder MetalFest V will start at 5PM and be finished before 1AM. Seven amazing bands in one night ranging from progressive melodic to aggressive thrash metal. Surely each attendee will find something to their liking. For the price you won't find a more dynamic traditional metal show in metro Atlanta.
Don;t particularly care for one or two of the bands on the roster? No problem. The 120 Tavern has a great menu of reasonably priced food with ample servings. Take a break, enjoy some dinner on site, watch some TV, then return to the show when you feel like it. 8)

If you don't want to attend, no one here is twisting your arm. But don't hide behind your computer screen and tell me how to put together a good show when I have more than one reviewer praising what I've been doing to bolster the metal scene here for the past SIX years.

Ryan wrote:Eh... not trying to be a dick but the majority of the people that are going to come to this show don't give two shits about food and there are plenty of better venues downtown that have good sound, let you go in and out, will have cheaper booze, will be cheaper at the door, and aren't a glorified sports bar in marietta. Just looking at their website affirms that the only way Raven should be playing that place is if they were some sort of 6th wave nu metal bro bullshit that dudes in jeans and flip flops think is heavy.

The promoter should honestly reconsider their choice, unless Raven is really stoked on playing for like 20 people in the suburbs.

Nice username 8)
Name a few of those places.

I've mentioned before, and I'll say it again here... if you don't want to attend, fine. don't. You'll notice I didn't come here to start with to post this show. Brian did it without me realizing it, and I appreciate him trying to help me bring a few more fans out. But I'm smart enough to know that this is the ATLANTA metal forums, not the metro-Atlanta metal forums. I learned a long time ago that 90% of the folks who post here never bother with shows OTP unless SLAYER is playing Gwinnett Arena or something.

That same 90% thinks they know what it takes to run a successful show. But how many of you have? No, I don't bring hundreds and hundreds of people out to Marietta to my shows. But I guarantee you one thing - those that do attend enjoy themselves and typically go on to rave about the quality of the bands vs. the price charged at the door.

Have you been to this 'glorified sports bar' since the new owners invested so much into renovating it? If you haven't, you need to.

Tell you what Ryan, I'll stop right there. I'm not going to ramble on in an endless internet debate over what makes a good room for live music, or WHO attends these shows (flip flops? really?).

Here's what I'll do... I have a show on August 25th at The 120 Tavern. It's ten bucks at the door. Bring a friend, and I'll let you both in for the ten bucks. If at the end of the night you are not impressed with the venue and the talent on stage, I will fully refund your $10.

Deal? Come on out bro. I want to meet you and prove that you don't have to always stay ITP to enjoy a great metal show. :)

for the doubters, this is why I do what I do...
"All in all, I would call the Pathfinder Metalfest IV a huge hit. I walked away from this festival with some great new friends and I also left as a fan of a handful of new bands. Every band on this bill gave 100% on stage and really made the most of their time on stage. I'd have paid double, if not triple, the amount of money to see bands of ½ this quality perform. Pathfinder Metalfest proved itself as an amazing, and very affordable, way to see some really amazing up and coming talent. This show also proved that up and coming doesn’t mean “not as talented.â€Â￾ I would put a good number of these bands up against any of the “big dogsâ€Â￾ and they would hold their own without a doubt. Festivals and shows like this give bands that are so sadly overlooked an opportunity to shine and show people just what they are capable of. I highly recommend attending a Pathfinder Metalfest if you find yourself wanting to hear and see some of the best metal bands that you may never get a chance to see otherwise. You just may find your new favorite bands this way. As for me, I’m a supporter for life now. You’ll be seeing me at many more Pathfinder Metalfests from here on out."
This is from the REVIEW I posted earlier that I'm sure not many here took the time to read yet. I've been asking Don (Great Southern Brainfart) to come out for a show for a couple of years now. He finally did. And he finally realized what he'd been missing. 8)

I'll go ahead and say that the stage at sidelines is actually really good. Hoyt let us play a couple pathfinder shows when we were first getting our shit together a year or two back and the crowd was always decently big the shows were super well run and all the bands were treated great. That being said I just don't think most of the bands on pathfinder shows or "fests" attract the metalheads on this board. I personally think the raven show would be better in the city of atlanta for sure but I don't think the turn out will be bad at all.
