To be honest, I wasn't all that crazy about them. I know Todd really liked their set, but I thought they just sort of fell flat. This is either the third or fourth time that I have seen them, twice with Zetro. Of course, my main criterion was that they play "Piranha," which they did not. YMMV.
Sat out S.T.'s set. They did not play "Institutionalized".
I thought Slayer were awesome. Sure, Dave is gone and Jeff has passed. My take is that they are using this tour to re-establish the connection with their base, because the songs were almost all from the first five records. "Die By the Sword", "Chemical Warfare", "Spill the Blood", "Postmortem", "Altar of Sacrifice/Jesus Saves", "Hell Awaits", "At Dawn They Sleep", plus the songs you'd expect: "Mandatory Suicide", "Raining Blood", "Angel of Death", "War Ensemble". The only new songs they played were something that I have learned was called "Snuff" and "Psychopathy Red."
There were literally times that I had goosebumps. But maybe that is just me -- I spoke to others who were completely underwhelmed. I'm not sure how relevant Slayer will be, going forward. Surely, they will continue to play big venues. But Tom and Kerry brought it. Gary is not Jeff, but he is probably the closest they could find to someone that would have a similar style to Jeff's.
I don't expect that I will see them again, because I'm guessing this new album will be uninspired. But this was a fine show.

I wanted to like Exodus since Zetro is back in the fold, but, to be honest, I barely even noticed they were on stage. That's how boring they were. I've seen them with Baloff, with Dukes, and this was the 3rd or 4th time with Zetro, and this performance just didn't leave any impression at all. I usually get pretty psyched to hear "Strike of the Beast," but this time it was just another tune.
On the other hand, I loved ST. I was wondering how they would replace the rhythm section, but the new guys did a bang up (!) job. They added a little variety to the proceedings as well.
Slayer was as awesome as ever. Great set, and I was really impressed with Bostaph.

This is the same set that they played here.
Nothing off Impact is Imminent... Im out. Glad I missed this.
Looking at Slayer's setlist the only thing that stands out to me is Spill the Blood, never seen that live. Well, that and not playing anything off Divine Intervention...which I find very disappointing. With Hanneman gone, they should play a couple off this album. Hanneman apparently said it was too fast for him to play cleanly, so they stopped playing songs from it. And fuck those tracks off World Painted Blood, they blow.
