They only had the 'other' side of the amphitheater open, parking was in that field where the side-stage was set up for Ozzfest, and they were charging $10 to park, the bloody bastards. (Parking at Hi-Fi Buys is normally free in the big paved lot.)

I heard the show hadn't sold too many tickets, but that lot was pretty full.
yeah that was gay! $10 to park... yeah when I was doing my shift at WRAS today someone called and said they couldn't go because the show "sold out" ...I was like "Sold out? they closed off the lawn!" I guess they sold all of the seats and didn't want us nasty fuckers destroying their pretty lawn.
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

Yep, I think that's exactly what happened, although I wouldn't have thought the show would sell 5,500 or so tickets, which is the seating capacity of the regular seats. If it did, cool.

I noticed how short the sets were....Thine Eyes Bleed couldn't have played for more than 25 minutes, and I think CoB were ending right as we were leaving, so that was pretty short too. Did they get much more than a half an hour?

It was more crowded that I thought it would be which was great but there was empty seats towards the back in those corner sectons which were mostly empty. A good crowd though. In NJ at the Meadowlands which is really a NYC show filled the whole 1/4 house so this tour sounds like they are doing well fan wise. The sound I thought for Slayer sucked. They were tighter then when I saw them in Jersey, being the second show I understand that but the sound especially towards the end was horrible. Hell Awaits was all fucked up, Jeff lost his Guitar for the beginning and Tom seems like gave up on singing the rest of the song. Slayer played for like an hour and 10 minutes which is short but new album new tour longer set. I hope they play clubs that way they can play for the usuall two hour Slayer time . I liked Lamb of God , I thought they came out with a lot of energy. First time I saw Mastodon and they were pretty good as well. Missed COB and Thine Eyes Bleed. Slayer was the main event and were great. AntiChrist,Hell Awaits, Chemical Warfare,Silent Scream all highlights both times seeing them. Also I parked on the other side of Hi Fi's where they usually let you in , across the street on the grass and didnt pay for parking and just walked around to the front.

@lifesadream: yeah I noticed that Tom just kinda walked away from the mic... it's like he didn't feel like singing and so he let the crowd sing. I know singers usually do that during the chorus of the song but he was doing that during the other parts too. I still enjoyed the show though.

He had gallbladder surgery not too long before the tour started. Dont know if that had anything to do with it. I am sure when their own headlining tour comes around in the fall or next year they will all be at the top of their game.

nah...it's just all image. the lead singer is Christian and he's from Chile. But Kerry King (guitarist) has God Hates Us All tatooed down his arm!

and one more thing: a few nights ago I saw this thing on TV about Bill Riccio...he was this dude who is all about white power. He would basically recruit young men and they would all have clan rallies for the KKK and they were all Nazi skinheads who loved Hitler. I guess he was trying to combine the KKK and the skinhead movement...I thought this was strange because I know that the KKK were originally WASPs...and they even showed Bill Riccio praying to Odin (Nordic god of war). Most of the people he recruited were definitely brainwashed and would believe anything so their life would somehow make sense. anyways, what my point is is that in almost every scene, Bill Riccio had on a Slayer shirt...and there was Slayer shit all over his house. Slayer definitely does have a Nazi following but Tom Araya has said it himself that it's just all image. (He said it in an interview in the film Metal: A Headbanger's Journey)

I saw that too!! It looked pretty old though - early 90s at the latest. Those people were amazingly ignorant. Especially the part about Thomas Jefferson would've supported white power and their dumbass movement. I thought it was funny that he kept talking about how his movement was growing and they were a force to be reckoned with yet there couldn't have been more than 20 people there, and nearly all guys.
Fuck it, Dude, let's go bowling.
