Not saying I agree with it, just explaining it.

dont mean to sound like a jackass, but thats totally not true, atleast around here, you can be the shittiest band in the world and draw nobody at shows and plenty of places around this city will still book you for sure. i speak from example ive booked a few shows before and i know the works. and ive booked bands that i knew wouldnt draw basically cuz i wanted to see them.
your church was turned into an abortion clinic and we use it all the time... sluts!!!

Yeah Matt's pretty much right about that, though it varies between different venues.

And if you were the best band in the world, I'd hope you would be able to draw people in.

Hmm I should have worded that better...people will book you, but not most concert venues. Of course people who just book shows small time will book bands that they want to see, but a venue like the Masquerade that is primarily a business is going to book bands who bring them revenue.

This is my most anticipated concert of '07. Enslaved may be my favorite band, and it's still incredibly surreal to me that I'll be seeing them (God willing) in just two weeks.

My only worry is the turnout. Enslaved definitely isn't a popular band in the US, but Arsis should bring in the young crowd.

Ok; so implying that From Exile is getting 'whored' by the masquerade is entirely wrong. We have played 4 shows at the Masq in the last year consisting of only local bands, each time selling close to 50 tickets (each show!) and bring a decent turnout (for a show of all local bands; aka not paid shit). This long and arduous process is what helped us land the opening gig for the Enslaved show. We earned that spot by working very hard for the Masquerade's off-night locals shows. Maybe this is a bad thing; the masquerade probably does take advantage of bands in our position... But to suggest that we are being 'whored out' by the masquerade is a cheap shot to all the honest work we have put into being in the position to play this show... Don't be an idiot, support us, we fight the good fight...

That being said, all (screambloodygore, blarg) of you should email fromexile@gmail.com so we can work out your ticket situation individually..

Dear God, I hope so. I'm not going alone, and my car wouldn't allow me if I wanted to.
