Let me preface this by saying that I think all four full lengths are great. Leave Scars is vastly better than Time Does Not Heal, but both pale in comparison to the first two releases.

Looks like the current All Venue All Days option is going to be the best financial option. A mind blowing $255...They only offer 3day specific venues otherwise and Rams Head and Edison are the only two I really care about ($220 for those both, excluding Thursday), they said that when the Thursday ticket goes on sale it'll be equal or greater than the current 'All' option.

Great fest, just wish they could figure a way to keep the price from continuously going up.

+1

the first time I went to MDF back in 2008, a 3 day pass was $85 but it was all inside Soundstage (formerly known as Sonar). The year after that it just around $100 and they had one outdoor stage in addition to Sonar that year plus a separate preparty show on Thursday which was only $15 or so. Now, Thursday is included in the fest and it's gone up alot since then.

Normally I would have bought tickets already but it's quite expensive plus I don't know where I'll be around that time next year either. Idk, maybe I'll get some tickets soonish once I have an idea of where I'll be in a couple weeks and just hope I can go! But I probably won't be going to all the venues though. The Edison lot & Ramshead sound the most interesting to me.
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

I'm totally bummed that I missed out on the 4 day all venue ticket :( I am not very interested in Soundstage, though I would really like to see Noothgrush...

But yeah, I can't believe the price increase! Last year a 4 day pass was $185 and now it's $255. Thinking I might just get a 3 day for Edison and Rams Head and not seeing anything Thursday or at Soundstage :(

I wouldn't be too heartbroken missing Soundstage if I were you, and to be honest Thursday is kind of weak. Coffins is the only band I'm stoked to see, don't know a few of the others yet though. Both Jephi and I ended up getting the all access (she really likes Triptykon) and figured it was the best financial option that included Thursday, now we can hit Soundstage if there happens to be a lineup lull at Edison or something.

Book fewer bands and quit expanding like crazy.

MDF has pretty much swallowed a good portion of Baltimore. It's cool a fest like this exists in the US but holy shit, in a few years tickets will be $500 before we know it.

About to put my Edison and Rams Head tix on Ebay unless anyone wants them for less-than face value.

Sell them on the MDF Forum. People are all over it needing tickets and they will pay at least face value

I picked the wrong year to sit out. Triptykon, mgla, Sacrifice, Taake, Inquisition, and now this.

EDIT: I read in another story that the statute's effective date is 10/1/14. So it is still a crime, this year.

MDF just got better
maybe it's a good thing I can't go this year!

I could care less if folks smoke but I would be exposed to more second hand smoke than normal...and just my luck, would get popped for a drug test right after I get back. I've gotten 'randomly' tested 5 times in the last year and a half or something.

That being said, I still wish I could go!
