Dark Tranquillity, Divine Heresy, Firewind
June 9, Masquerade
Any time DT comes I'm there. My all-time favorite metal band.
Firewind is pretty cool live but I really don't give two shits about the support.

Re: Dark Tranquillity, Divine Heresy, Firewind
Eclipsed by Sanity will be the only local support act for this show. So get their early, because if you haven't seen these guys on stage, then you don't know what you're missing!
EbS took first place in the first annual Georgia Mountain Center Battle of the Bands on March 29th, hosted by Greyskull. And deservedly so. Their brand of power/thrash metal is currently tearing up stages all over the metro Atlanta area and will soon be reaching out to nearby states!
They are of course selling tickets to this Dark Tranquilty show, so get your tickets directly from them by contacting them through MySpace or else writing them at eclipsedbysanity[at]yahoo[dot]com
Thanks and we'll be seeing you there!

If for some reason I can't make it on the list I'll definitely hit up EbS, they're probably the best local power metal band I've heard in a while.
Did you get that interview Brian?
Anyways...here's my review:
Last night was AWESOME
My friend from church and his friend took me because I just found out they were going to at the last minute and for some reason, my friend's Mom wouldn't let him go (the one I usually go to concerts with). That kinda sucked but it was still good. Got to the venue at around 6:15 and stood in line for about 45 minutes. I was 4th in line to get in so I got rail. Sweet. I bought a shirt (from last year's tour, it was only $15) and waited for Eclipsed By Sanity to come on.
Eclipsed By Sanity :
Local band from Atlanta...I gotta say I thought their myspace songs were just Ok but Patrick, the singer assured me they were better live. They were right. They were amazing. Awesome vocals, the guitar solos were great, the bassist also has a good scream, and a good drummer. The only complaint was throughout the whole night everyone's vocals needed to be turned up, including their's. But it wasn't their fault of course, just the venue's. Also, they should of played longer.

Soldiers of Scrape:
Local band from Michigan or Colorado on the same record label as Firewind I think. They got added to the tour at the last minute. Soldiers of Scrape SUCKED and I couldn't wait till they got off the stage. Their lyrics are really stupid, the singer sounds like a mixture of Pantera and Devildriver rip-off. There was one point where the guitarist put a sign with a whole in it on his face. Yeah...enough said. I was getting so bored. I must of yawned like 5 times. Boring.
Firewind: They were great as I expected. I only had Allegiance so I wasn't too familiar with them, but liked em enough to know their sound beforehand. They played 3 new songs and a few old ones. Gus G is awesome live....I don't think he missed a note. His solos are flawless. They were great.

Divine Heresy:
I had no interest in seeing this band. I thought they sucked on album. The only thing I liked about this band was the drummer. But they surprised me. They were WAY better live. The band sounded really good....the drummer was fast as hell, guitars were pretty good, the new singer was just Ok but he had so much energy....they were definitely the most energetic band of the night. He kept jumping on the barrier and using my head as leverage so he wouldn't fall down. There were some huge pits (which I didn't go in haha) and my friend lost his spot on the rail from some fags. But they were really fun. I wouldn't mind seeing em again. The only thing that sucked is that the singer's crotch was in my face half of the set. Haha
7/10
Dark Tranquillity:
Of course, Dark Tranquillity stole the show. They had technical problems in the beginning. I could barely hear the guitars for the first 2 songs but they fixed it and made them louder. They were still kinda low and Mikael's mic needed to be turned up a little but they were still amazing. Mikael got in my face multiple times and I shook every member's hand, except the drummer I think. I went crazy during Punish My Heaven and The New Build. Those were just phenomenal live. My friends had to work in the morning and they said they wanted to leave early but I kindly told them no. I wasn't gonna pay for a ticket and wait for a year to see Dark Tranquillity and leave early. My friend's dad was pissed but I didn't care. He'll get over it. :headbang:

Anyways, awesome show. I hope they come back soon because they were great. Mikael really seemed humbled and was really appreciative of the fans. I had a great time.
Overall: 9/10
