The interesting things about this show is that we all had very different experience, because everyone chose to see different bands. But it sounds like everyone had a really good time, because almost all of the bands are very good at what they individually do.

It really was a monumental show and one that I think we will all remember for a long time. It would be great if this became a yearly thing. I would even pay good money for something like that.

I'm still super impressed at how well the whole thing was run. And also at how good the sound was for the outdoor stage. I had a lot of fun and it was great seeing so many old friends and cool people.

How did parking for the fest work? Did the Masquerade's own lot fill up and if it did (seems likely), where were people parking instead?

I ended up staying with Rwake in Atlanta and left for Athens the next day trying to beat the snow before it got too shitty in Athens. Fucking stupid. I got in a four car pile up on 316 just a few miles outside of town. At least no one was hurt but I'm going to be poor and carless for a while.
Oh, man, that sucks. I heard 316 was a nightmare on Sunday, with "dozens" of wrecks according to WSB. :x

holy shit that sucks! glad noone got hurt.

@knucklehead - yeah I would too! I still can't believe this was free :D

@Paul - I didn't drive there but from what I could tell, the lot was probably filled to capacity. The streets were full with cars too.
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

I pulled in and they said $10 so I went to Kroger and walked...no problem.

I thought Krallice was fucking amazing and I was pissed that they were not selling any merch. I kind of regret not seeing Rwake in between Krallice and WITTR but I did not want to lose my spot in the front. I was also pissed about Zoroaster using house equipment and there were a bunch of dicks right in the front but it's not a big loss since I've seen them a zillion times. US Christmas seemed interesting for the brief time I saw them, and I think I'm gonna have to check them out some more. Skeletonwitch was amazing, Kylesa was amazing, and I have to say I felt "?" about Torche this time around.

I'm surprised Kroger didn't have people out in the parking lot watching for that...they've threatened to tow cars before.

How did the Masquerade handle the fest bathroom-wise? I'm assuming they added some porta-potties? (Yipes, I'd hate to see a 5K crowd there without any added...umm...capacity.... )

Portapotties out back. I'd say about 20-30 of them.

I never had a problem with lines inside or out.

So yeah, I suppose it was a pretty fantastic day. I finished off my first bottle of bourbon at around nine in the morning, so it made for one drunken ass, metal filled fifteen hours.

Highlights for big boy Ryan:
Withered, who were the best band by far.
Tyr
Skeletonwitch
Gaylord
Neurosis

Seriously, Withered. Goddamn.
