planning on going to this. hopefully this is actually happening. for some reason i find it hard to believe that mastodon is playing a free show in a record store since they have become so popular.

From the Criminal Records website:

"Due to an overwhelming repsonse from the public, Criminal Records has had to modify how it will handle the upcoming Mastodon in-store performance on Tuesday, March 24th. The store will be closed (for a brief time) at 8 pm, so that we may re-organize to enhance our customers enjoyment of the show. Upon re-opening, customers that have a Criminal Records receipt from purchase of "Crack The Skye" will be given priority to enter the store. Also, due to space constraints and security concerns we will limit the number of people allowed in the store to 300. Thanks for your understanding."

haha, gay city.

I couldn't make it anyway, but that's pretty funny. Should any of you actually get inside, someone spit in Brent Hinds' face for me.

I had a test early this morning and I'm sick so I decided to skip out on it. That sucks that the show was a bust.

i dont know. i thought they were going to clear out some space for the show but instead i had to stand in the middle of rows of cd's. i didnt have a good view. the sound was terrible and mastodon have never been that good live with their singing and so since their new album is mostly singing and all the songs they played last night were new ones....they just didnt sound that good. THEY ONLY PLAYED 4 SONGS!

im sure i will like the new cd, but i didnt appreciate the fact that i had to buy it to see a supposedly "free" show.

I think the whole thing was just way too hyped up and everyone thought they were doing a full-on show. And I thought they were just giving priority to those who bought the album to get in, I dont think you had to buy the album.
