I was at that show. Testament and Slayer...pure Awesome.egg yolkeo wrote:AWESOME its been forever, last time they cancelled.Hopefully they are still as loud live as they used to be and the masq gets the sound right.
The Souls of black tour at the civic center was prolly the loudest show Ive ever been to.
I think the last time Testament played the Masquerade they brought in their own PA.

yeah I'm so going to this!

Oh well, I'm old, but when I started going to shows I was really young. I was around 14 when I went to that show. It was the first time I ever saw Slayer and probably second time for Testament.
And to Egg; The last time Testament played here was on the Demonic tour. '99 maybe? Too damn long ago. I'm thinking that may have been the show that SYL and Stuck Mojo were the openers on the tour, but when they played here Mojo headlined because it was Bonz' birthday. And Mojo could pretty well pack out the Masq on their own at that time. Maybe they took it personally or something.

That was my friend Tim. He was the original bassist for Package.egg yolkeo wrote:some mofo was hangin off one of the rafters during mojo's set.

I think that was 1996. I remember because I was overseas, otherwise I would have gone.Strange wrote: And to Egg; The last time Testament played here was on the Demonic tour. '99 maybe? I talked to Chuck Billy way back at the Tampa Metal Fest where Obituary first got back together and was asking.. damn man, how about an Atlanta date? He told me fuck yea, well come to Atlanta. Well...what 5 years later ya dirty bastard. Glad they're finally coming down though and on a Saturday. Last time they were here was the Demonic tour and i missed that show. I'll be there for this one.
