their name being a reference to to the best metallica song in existence? i had hoped they would sound more like old metallica when i saw the name... i was disappointed

No idea. Probably the name.

I didn't even know they had a metal following

They did or are doing a tour with Cryptopsy. Yeah they sound like Crown of Thorns, nothing like old Metallica.

I read an article back in '86, probably, about Metallica and the author took the position that they were down to earth, no holds-barred, balls to the wall metalheads. The author then pointed to this song title and asked the question, "is this some existential metaphor? No. It's about some guy who is actually trapped under ice." Still makes me chuckle, all these years later.

I wonder how many times people have asked TUI to cover that song.

but still.
Trapped Under Ice = best Metallica song ever
Trapped Under Ice = sweet band from Baltimore

i'm gonna name my kid Trapped Under Ice in hopes of achieving such success

This show was awesome. good times were had. also brought along my roommate who is into stuff like Tool, but for some reason really likes TUI. he enjoyed his first hardcore show.

Neal, do you know what time the Western Haikus set will start next week? all my friends want to see the whole show at the Masq, but I couldn't care less aside from the first band...

I hope you're joking there dude. Not sure what in the holy hell was going on there that night, but my 585 experience has been vastly different...superior even. There's got to be some metal footage floating around.
