What's up everyone,
The Masquerade wants to throw one last blowout of a Metalfest before closing their doors.
This is what we are looking at, some of you have seen this before. The date will be 01/29/05 and it will again be an all day event, 30+ bands on 3 stages. This year I believe that the tickets will be $5 with $2 going to the bands in an effort to really blow this up. The time slots should be 30-40 minutes each starting early in the day (probably around 2pm).
If you are interested in being part of this 2005 Metalfest please contact us ASAP. More details and time slots will be available soon. All that we ask, in an effort to make drawing up 30 or more bands worth of time slots easier, is that you agree to play any slot, any stage and promote the event as a whole everywhere possible. This is most likely the last chance we will have to do something like this again so lets make it one to remember.
Thanks,
Chris/LVL

That'd be cool, but the last time they did that it was a really shitty show. Most of the bands were horrible and no one was there. People would go to see one band and leave. And no band is going want to play 2pm in purgatory and still promote. And the Masq is just interested in getting money and wouldnt take the time to get any actual good bands, instead it would be a few good ones and a ton of shitty ones.

Of course the club is interested in making money. It is a business and they have to pay bills and employess too. Hopefully the $5 tickets price (half what it was last time) will bring more heads. And yes, 2pm in purgatory is not anyone's idea of a dream slot on a Metalfest but someone will have to fill it. As far as the bands on the bill are concerned, we certainly aren't picking all of them but are helping contact a lot of bands for the club. Basically you never know how these things are going to go but that is no reason not to give it a shot if given the chance. I mean, why the hell not.

Thanks for the info.
I'm trying to get some of the bands from Utterdestruction to sign on. So if any of you talk to Burial Rites or the Knife Trade please tell them to check their email and get on this thing. Ender's Game and Lilitu have signed up. Daath and At Gunpoint have declined due to other obligations.
Thanks

Personally I'm more in favor of a 2 evening (Friday/Saturday) deal.
Also, what's your opinion about all local bands -vs- throwing in one or two national acts? [/quote]
I think next time Utter Destruction should start later. Though Breakers liked it the way it was. And I noticed the peak of the turnout was about 5-6pm
