1/23/12-Slow Southern Steel screening+Hail!Hornet @ The EARL

Post by blorter » Tue November 29th, 2011, 11:55 am

Limited seating for film screening. Movie starts at 8pm and music at 10pm.

Hail! Hornet & Zoroaster perform after the film!

Film info: From the director(CT): The film is about underground heavy bands south of the Mason Dixon. It will have intense live performances from some of the crustiest, doomiest, and most progressive of heavy bands from the south. As will include interviews from the dirtiest and smelliest musicians, promoters, and fans from this genre about living and growing up in the bible belt, and other beautiful shit hole christian ran towns, as well as drugged out road stories, and other uncouth happenings.

STARRING: Hank III, Kylesa, Eyehategod, Torche, Dark Castle, Sourvein, Zoroaster, A Hanging, Haarp, Hawg Jaw, Black Skies, Ketea, Parasytic, Beaten Back to Pure, ASG, The Roller, Dixie Witch, Weedeater, Royal Thunder and many many more.

Hail! Hornet features members of Weedeater, Buzzov-en, Sourvein, & Alabama Thunderpussy

Was hoping the Plaza would pick this up, but glad to hear that we're finally getting a chance to see it.

Wish this was the 22nd since it's my b-day weekend but I'll have to be back in TN that Monday so I'll probably catch the Nashville showing.

You should probably put HailHornet in the title since I can see some people coming out for them who might miss this topic

Heads up everyone. If you want to see the movie along with the bands I'd recommend getting them in advance and getting there early.

We will have very limited seating and limited cap during the movie due to having chairs. After the film we will move the chairs and allow more people into the show for the bands.

In other words, tickets are moving a little faster than we originally expected. Thanks and it's gonna be a good one!

Anyone else make it out to this? I thought the film was really well done and gave me a few new bands to check out. The place was packed, but somehow we got front row center seats when we walked in five minutes before the screening started. I'll definitely be picking up a DVD when they are released.

I thought the doc was put together quite well, although they leaned heavily on interviews with just a few people. I enjoyed it, but Hail!Hornet made the night for me. So good.

I hate that I couldn't stick around for H!H. Had to hit the road early. I really was hoping Beaten Back to Pure would end up playing here. That's far and away my favorite band of that incestuous family. I like 'em even more after hearing Ben Hogg's interview segments in the flick. Dude is funny as fuck.
