Fun show. The sound was surprisingly good.

Sadistic - tight
Ectovoid - enjoyed what I saw of it - watched about half their set then went outside to stuff my face at the grill.
Speedwolf - much better than their show last Friday night.
Mangled - destroyed

I've been giving this some thought, since the Raven show, and here's what I've come up with. I'm not going to metal shows, for the most part, to be entertained. I don't want to see premeditated, synchronized wind-milling. I don't want to hear the stock joke. I don't want to see the bass-player and the guitar-player simulataneously switch sides of the stage, because they have reached that point in the set. I'm not there to see a stage show that is the metal equivalent of Madonna or Lady Gaga or whatever.

I want to see guys get up there and rock. Either they feel it or they don't.

I have to wonder if the venue didn't have something to do with it. They were playing a basement, and that demands some honesty.

How was their guitar sound at the house show? It was god awful at TW.

I don't know why a band with such a dirty and warm, Motorhead vibe would choose to play through a shitty solid state piece of crap Marshall that sounds like little more than angry bees. I can only assume that it was dude's back up rig and his decent tube head blew up early in their tour.

That was the saddest part of the evening for me. I really want to hear them play with a proper guitar tone. Still wish that I could have made that house show.
