Under the Couch will book shows again

Post by TheKshatriya » Tue June 18th, 2013, 11:54 pm

Not sure if they ever really stopped but they have been doing more hardcore shows lately. Dead in the Dirt played there a few days ago with some other metal/crust/grind type bands.

Its all ages and they will do shows for basically nothing. GA Tech gives them money to spend on what they need so they dont really need money from the shows. Plenty of parking, in the city, stage, AC, lights, and great sound.

Just putting it out there if anyone needed a spot for shows.

The sound and lights are great. It's a very nice spot. It isn't the same location as the old one. Parking is a bitch though and it is a very strictly alcohol free venue. But I would love to start seeing shows there.

I keep hearing people talk about it. I've been meaning to check the spot out.

Brian you had a problem parking? There is a pay lot but all the spots on the street are free after like 5 or 6.

I've been there once. I saw Group X.

BYOB in the pay parking lot? Why is it an alcohol-free venue?

Its on the GA Tech campus, in the student center. I personally approve of breaking any kind of alcohol law, minus driving drunk, and support parking lot drinking or even drinking in non descriptive bottles in the venue. Though if it happens a lot and people get caught they probably wont let us have shows there anymore.

They never responded to my emails either. The best thing you could do is just go up there one day when you know they'll be there and talk to them in person.

BUT, they arent booking any more shows for the rest of the summer semester. Sucks but they'll be taking more shows soon enough.

The tied-in musicians' network meets on Monday evenings (I want to say at 7:00 PM). The booking person should be there.
