Same, thought I heard that as well. It would have been crazy as shit if they booked a local metal and punk band to open. DRI has yet to disappoint me live.

They are too big for the DU, I think. Hell is a bigger room than DU and, both times that I've seen them there in the past couple of years, it has been pretty full.

They are absolutely not too big for DU.

Tried to get it there but Masq offered more money. The show would have been infinitely better with actual bands that fit. Oh well, we can see some irrelevant rock bands the masq put on to sell tickets and DRI in an room thats half full.

It wasn't that quiet the last time d.r.i. came to town, was it?

Masquerade can be a downer, but I think Hell is an appropriate for DRI, Regardless of the shitty opener. Every DRI show I've seen is packed out. It might not be as tight as a space as the DU, but I still have a good time. Plus I don't have to fight the crowd for an overpriced PBR.

The opener is Rotten Stitches. They used to play a lot at Dragons Den on state street, but the neighbors complained about the noise at 5am so it's been closed down. I guess if you're not into hardcore punk you might think the opener is shitty. I dig em though.

They played two songs from a new album coming out next year. "As Seen on TV" and "Against Me." They didn't say what the new album was going to be called.

Small crowd, but intense. One fight broke out.

I guess all you other motherfuckers were at Nekrofilth.
