California Deathfest is a 3-day event that will take place from October 9-11, 2015 at the Oakland Metro Operahouse in Oakland, California. The show on Friday, October 9th will feature grind, punk, and hardcore bands, and the shows on October 10th and 11th will feature death, black, and doom metal bands. Various merchandise and food vendors will also be at California Deathfest.

The organizers of Maryland Deathfest recently decided to give it a go with an event on the West Coast. Let it be known that Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore is not going anywhere. We simply wanted to get our feet wet with another festival elsewhere in the US. California Deathfest is not meant to be as big as MDF, as it will take place in an intimate club setting with only 1 stage."

yep

solid lineup but three of the four top bands (and 40% of the total so far) are local. hopefully this gets even better, but it's worth the trip (?) for Worship and Loss alone

I might go one time for a multi-purpose trip, I couldn't imagine doing it annually like I do MDF.

I like San Francisco and have family out there, so I'd show my Lady around the Bay and hang out with my family--with a metal show thrown in the mix.

Anyone else think they'd make it? We're staying in San Francisco for about 4 days before the fest. We're not going to the Friday show, just Saturday & Sunday.

Unless work has other plans for me, I'm going! Got tix, plane tix & a rental car set up. Anyone want to split a room?

I'm flying into SFO Friday morning and leave Monday around 6pm. I'm flying to & from Albuquerque though so no, we probably won't be on the same flights haha. I plan on checking out San Francisco (why I'm flying in and out of there) while there. And getting drunk.

Only a week late haha

The show was great! Got some shitty pictures from my phone haha. Met some dudes from Germany...they'll be at MDF next year. San Francisco is amazing...highly recommend visiting. And yes, getting to see the Blue Angels (again) was nice! I toured some of the ships the Navy brought too and was totally nerding out when I saw the guns on them
