They are playing with Slayer the night before in Raleigh and the night after in Charlotte...
Does anybody know why Slayer decided to snub Atlanta and Carcass and Testament decided to come play here without them?

No one is questioning, and we are grateful for the absence of Slayer.

Just realized this is the same night as Uli Jon Roth/Jennifer Batten.

I was planning on driving to Charlotte to see Testament/Carcass on Slayer support. Slayer not playing here is a bonus, saved me a ton of money/time - even the ticket price is half!

Cool show. Nothing earth-shattering. I hadn't seen Carcass since 1994, so that was a treat, even though I got there late. I can definitely say that sound engineers have figured out how to get a killer sound out of bands that tune way down in the intervening years.
Did Testament play an encore? I split after "Formation of Damnation."

No Testament encore. Was hoping for at least one more Legacy tune. The sound tech that travels with Carcass these days can make even Masquerade sound good. Testament could have used some of that savvy. Fun show for a Sunday.

Stage right at the edge of the pit during Carcass and milled around the sound board for Testament. Weird we didn't see you.

Exactly what I thought....Testament was a bit too loud and lost on clarity I thought...Carcass stole the show tbh.
no encore, I waited around a few minutes like a few others as well :s
What was the first band? Not really my thing at all, I am not sure how they fit in with the headliners either.
Also hoping to meet some of you guys next time as I was alone and that gets pretty boring during the huge gaps between bands!
