High on Fire, et al. 11/14/19 Masq
Been looking forward to this one. Anyone going? Masq says doors open at 6:00. Should I expect the first band at 7:00?

Won't be there tonight, but recently it seems like Masq has been prompt about the first band starting 30 minutes after door time.

That show was the most packed I've ever seen Hell. Someone said it was probably oversold and I believe them. The merch area was even packed. There was a little space to walk in front of the bar, and near the rest rooms.
I got there during Power Trip and left about a third of the way through High On Fire. The crowd had lightened up decently after Power Trip.
Second time seeing High On Fire (that I remember) and they still do nothing for me.

Yeah, it was ridiculously crowded. I couldn't leave home until 7, so with the shit traffic I arrived when Devil Master was almost done. The 2 songs I heard were really cool, though. I dig the Bauhaus meets death metal vibe and sound. First time seeing Power Trip - holy shit... Not much more to be said, other than I felt like I got my money's worth even after missing Creeping Death completely. Fourth time seeing High on Fire, and the returns are diminishing. Drummer seemed weak after the skins-punishing inflicted by Power Trip dude.ratanda wrote: ↑Fri November 15th, 2019, 12:11 pmThat show was the most packed I've ever seen Hell. POWER TRIP still reigns supreme. I can't think of any other style of music that has one band just outright dominate everyone else like Power Trip does to post-80's thrash metal. The gap between them and literally every other thrash band on the planet just keeps growing and growing. As far as I'm concerned, they are right up there with all the legendary thrash acts.

Power Trip fucking sucks. By far the most poser of all the poser stache bands even.

i have a dream that they will one day not be judged by the content of their stache but but by the righteousness of their thrash
seven bands seven churches seven sages five magics / up the hammers to stay
