I think that I am going to go to this. I don't believe that I have actually ever seen Father Befouled.

How is that sound at Boggs? I've never been there for a show -- just for drinks.

Scoped out their huge new roll-up door at the end of the bar last weekend where they've opened up a wall to a new space with an actual stage and what's supposed to be a good PA. Stage was complete as of Saturday for the Ruby memorial, but issues with finalizing the PA got it bumped outside to the parking lot. Have enjoyed the handful of outdoor shows there way, way more than anything inside so far. Far superior sound with the loading dock as a stage. I would be just fine with that again on Friday if the new space still isn't ready.

I only saw turn cold and father befouled. I enjoyed FB, not really turn cold. About 40-50 people maybe.

Seraphic Entombment was great, too. New stage still wasn't ready, so pretty terrible sound again. Felt like a lot of people left after Turn Cold. Pretty much kicked everyone out after bands loaded out, too. Managed to be served alcohol at the bar each time I asked for it this time though. Have I mentioned lately how much I miss 529? New Father Befouled album sounds great.

Why are shows being scheduled there when the place isn't ready? Long-term contract with the promoter?

1. I think they "thought" it was ready with their first dinky stage/PA, but it turned out to not be that great so they're rethinking it. that's my guess
2. the promoter (a rippin) has for quite a while stuck with one venue for the most part. before covid, that venue was 529. there was a break with 529, so now the promoter is partnered with this place.

How is the place not ready? It sounded fine. Not the best but not the worst. You want to have shows or not? Or just cry about which bar they are at?

Shit sound compared to 529, Earl, Drunken Unicorn, (dare I say it) Masq, etc. Count me in for crying about which bar they're at.
