Strange, Cryptic, Paranormal, and outright Weird...

Post by NeuroNomicon » Mon July 31st, 2006, 9:13 pm

Has anyone here had any weird/strange/ghastly/ghoulish run-ins with the paranormal, the supernatural, or the just plaine outlandish?

October's still a ways off, but it's never too soon to dabble into the occult a bit.

Ghosts, aliens, and deju vu are all fair game. I've no doubts there shall be many a joke cast/heaped upon this thread, but...why not?

Any cool or creepy tales and yarns here be spun...

Does it count if you were stoned at a cemetary down on that covered bridge road in Smyrna at 3am and the car began rolling uphill?

i've got so many of these stories that i couldn't possibly account them on the forums. i'll think about which one would be worth the time and effort to sit here and type for a while about.

and kfoll, i've had tons of crazy experiences in that area. the witch's graveyard, the covered bridge and the train tressells(all located in the same area). nowadays all that is getting watered down. the cops are all around and they've done a lot of things to try their best to stop all the goings on around there.....but it honestly only works for a temporary timeframe.

Dude, Blaze, fire away brother.

Yes, the Smyrna gravity-defying hill is a qualifying item. There was a place like that in Tennessee called, "Gravity Hill".

I didn't realise Smyrna had anything worth a diddly-flop. Witch's Graveyard? Covered Bridged? You're not allowed to go into stuff like that, getting all cryptic, and not giving the full scoop, Blaze. Let's hear the dirt.

It's good to hear this stuff, as I've personally written Atlanta off on my creepy-o-meter. There were so many freaky things I ran into in Tennessee, which is apparently a very big hotspot for that sort of weirdness.

The best stuff that's been experienced, thus far, is:

1) In 1998 our old singer, our guitarist John, and myself(Mike), saw a cigar-shaped object parked in the skies over Kennesaw, which we jokingly referred to as "The Flying Penis". This object was absolutely silent, moved rather quickly, cigar-shaped, low-flying, and had a light on each tip of the "cigar", and had a porthole in the middle. It looked like something Jules Verne would have dreamed up, and I am rather thankful there were witnesses other than myself.

2) The "Illuminati Guidestones". Not so much "weird" but weird in the sense that someone has decided to erect a monument to our "masters". Either that, or to build a massive tombstone for us all. Our old vocalist and I went to check the rumours out in '03. The thing I found most impressive about the monument to mankind's eradication, is that its size is far greater than I expected. In person it really makes a difference seeing the stones in their full glory. I wouldn't say they were "paranormal", but it's not every day you get to see a tombstone for mankind.

That's about it for Georgia. Despite our time down in Savannah recording, the only thing we ran into that was scary were roaches and humidity. No ghosts, ghouls, or other various in sundry things that haunt and harass.

Here's something really weird. I was waking up this morning reading the AtlantaMetal forums expecting the usual nonsense from poo-flinging monkeys when something happened in my brain. Synaptic activity! I thought I must have been daydreaming of something else but I actually learned something by reading AtlantaMetal! I never knew about The Georgia Guidestones. Pretty interesting stuff - thanks NeuroNomicon.

An age of reason

Thanks, BoB. Poo flinging-monkey madness isn't quite as fun as the weird and esoteric of good old-fashioned, Georgia.

The guidestones actually cast a very imposing figure, and the ambiguity of their origins only lends itself to the mystique of the structures. The occult background isn't totally unfounded, and those within the mysterious orders that comprise the shadowy ghost of behind-the-scenes political intrigue may or may not have had a hand in it.

That being said, it was equally shocking on this end to discover such a thing in "boring old Georgia". An interesting theory, though, is that Elberton, being one of the largest granite makers, would be providing the bulk of the 6 billion headstones for the decay of mankind. Spooky!

It's all rather fun, and pretty interesting stuff. There's a book out, called "Weird Georgia", or something of the like, and it's a pretty safe bet the Guidestones are mentioned. I think Yoko Ono even commented on them as well.

Very cool. This is going on my list of "stuff I haven't seen yet in Georgia" with about 50 other things.

About the paranormal, I'm not sure. I had a "smile" telepathically sent to me from across the room once. Gah, hard to think about.

Here's the location of the Georgia Guidstones. Note that there are no satellite images until you zoom way the hell out. Coincidence?

That's just because there is usually shitty satellite imagery in rural areas, they only put money into the urban landscape so they can track criminals like you and I.

I will be checking those stones out.

No you sheep, it's part of the media coverup! geez... I can zoom in closer on what appears to be hog or chicken farms a few miles away. conspiracy!

regardless, you may still be able to see them at the level of available satellite images. There are some large white spots where Wikipedia claims they're located, visible from 77 off of Guidestones Rd.

Ever see the (allegedly) Bleeding Mausoleum in Cleveland, TN? It just happens to be in the town where a lot of my friends live up there, but they didn't tell me about it until just last summer. Our visit was stealthy and late at night (we weren't sure if the cops would mind us be-bopping around this church) so I can't confirm or deny any bleeding......
...a book called Weird Georgia
There's one for every state.

However, the creepiest place THEY've found anywhere in the U.S., they say, is right here in Georgia: Babyland General Hospital, where Cabbage-Patch Kids are born and named and other freakish things occur. It seriously weirded them out! We rule!

I saw a neet online article on the Guidestones (and some other weird shit in Georgia, like that freaky pyramid-place in South Georgia) just two days ago. The timing is surely coincidental.......................or is it?

Pyramid place, you say!? Do elaborate!

I didn't know there was a "Weird ______" book for every state. I had a boss that claimed Millidgeville was "the freakiest place in Georgia". I know the old insane asylum is there, but I've heard that it's been converted into a modern hospital, and I've also heard that it's still abandoned. Who knows?

Don't believe in coincidence. A few weeks ago I stated, "If you think this(movie) is bad, there's one worse. It was a real stinker I saw a few years back called, "Lake Placid"." To which, the television responded, during the commercial break, not 30 seconds later, "Next up on TBS: "Lake Placid"." I felt as though I had gotten punched in the gut. Too, far too creepy.

So what's the skinny on those pyramids? And where in the hell is this Cabbage-Patch nightmare place?

well, supposeddly the "kennesaw house" is one of the most haunted places in the country. its now been converted to the gone with the wind museum on marietta square. it was built as a civil war hospital and obviously a bunch of people died there. it does have some creepy decor but i've never even been in there so i can't confirm the reports. i saw it pop up on some of those "most haunted places in america" specials on the travel channel.

i don't have time to type out my adventures at the moment, but i'll get back on tonight and shed some light on one or two things i've been through.

ok, so heres an entire weekend experience that happend at the witches graveyard in smyrna. circa 1996.........back when the entire road was untouched by the county or the authorities.

SATURDAY NIGHT - my cousin, his girlfriend, my girlfriend and i decided to take a late night trip to the witches graveyard. we had never been but heard a few stories about it and knew where it was located. so, my cousin and i grab a few survival knifes and pairs of brass knuckles just in case we had a run in with the alleged "satanists" and "witches" that performed rituals and sacrifices at the graveyard.

we get there and the place is just downright freaky. basically the road forks and one way is nice and paved and the way leading to the graveyard is dirt and the trees formed a natural tunnel. all signs of life ceased as we continued down the road. we pull up to the graveyard and the gate alone sent a shiver down your spine. it was all rotting wood fence and the gate had things hanging from wire and rope from it and you could see the headstones and empty graves through it.

the girls were so scared that they were crying and wouldn't get out of the truck so my cousin and i left them there and told them to keep the lights on so we could see inside. we got in there and there were a lot of empty graves and bloody headstones with messages written on them. we were checking it all out and then my cousin started grabbing my arm and turning me around. there was a shadow of a man standing on the side of the gate staring at us and we both freaked out. we both thought that we were badasses but i have to admit that we freaked out and ran like little s straight past the hulking shadow and jumped in the truck and sped off.

when we left we realized that i had knocked off my cousins speaker cover on the door of his truck. he was the kind of guy that had speaker boxes and bass cd's all over his truck so he was beside himself and insisted that we went back the next day to get it.

SUNDAY - DAY - all four of us went to church the next morning and afterwards starting heading towards the graveyard. while we were on our way people from every church we passed pulled out in front of us and seriously took every turn we took.

i joked and was like "wouldn't it be crazy if all these people were going to the witches graveyard too"

you guessed it, seriously, i swear on my life that we followed no less than 10 cars down the forked road and then the dirt road. we were all a little "iffy" on the situation and as we pulled closer we saw people stopping in a single file line with their cars. they were all walking into the graveyard and there were guys walking through the woods with shotguns.

needless to say, we didn't stick around. but, my cousin was hellbent on getting his speaker cover back so he planned on going back that night.

SUNDAY - NIGHT - we go back to the graveyard and things seemed alright. i got out with a flashlight and then i found his speaker cover all covered in dirt on the side of the road. i grabbed it and then jumped back into the truck.

as we were about to back out we saw headlights coming . we thought that it was probably the cops b/c we had heard that they would patrol down there from time to time. the car pulled up right behind us and then backed into one of the driveways to the two "coven" houses that were on either side of the graveyard and shut the lights off. it was light blue old dodge dart.

my cousin started to back out and right as we passed the driveway(in reverse) the car pulled out facing us. they got right on us and and my cousin floored it. the fastest i've ever gone in reverse. he got the truck turned around at the fork and the car kept chasing us. we were a little freaked so we just took off. we went all over concord and all the side roads off of concord with this car chasing us. we finally lost them and pulled into the dentist office that is on the corner of atlanta rd and concord to turn around and the car pulled past us and then turned around in the gas station across the street. they didn't see us or just didn't have the balls to actually stop and confront us and they took off. i told my cousin to follow them and he got right on their bumber. we then chased them through all those same backroads going 80+ through subdivisions with their car shooting sparks b/c there were three guys in the back of the car and the guy in the middle was obviously fat as hell and making the car scrape. we had our fun and then went on our way.

the end.
