i'm not sure what i can do with it but i will find out i guess
I was a little curious myself so I looked it up. This was on ticketmaster's wesbite:

Purchase a Mayhem VIP Ticket Package and get:
-One premium seat located in the reserved section*
-Official Mayhem VIP Laminate
-Access to the venue's VIP Lounge
-Exclusive Mayhem Skull Koozie

...maybe you'll meet the bands in the VIP lounge...
Hmm, doubtful. VIP Lounge <> backstage
My bro and I had VIP tix to the Emperor Show at HOB/Hollywood a couple years ago. What that meant was standing in line for an hour after the show then getting to have 2 things signed by each of the band members who were sitting at these tables. At least we had a chance to talk to them a little bit before we were herded outside. I will say they did a fairly good job of keeping that line moving, as they didn't let us stand there chatting for long. I remember feeling kind of dirty about the whole thing, like this is just the sort of thing I'd really really hate to have to do if I was a rock star. I am pretty sure Ihsahn felt that way too, he had a really weary and disgusted look on his face even though he was trying to be friendly and nice.

either way i think that is worth the extra 30 bucks if i have it laying around you know. better sets. i'm more comfy. chance to meet slayer and i get free shit ahahah "kinda free >.>"

The shows there fucking ruled. I saw Slayer at Lakewood when they played with Sabbath on Ozzfest years ago and it just wasn't the same man, they also played at like 3pm, that was also weird.
I'm 50/50 on it too. For me I think this show will basically amount to just hanging out with my friends during the day drinking while Slayer and some bands play in the distance.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever been on the lawn at Lakewood. Can you actually enjoy a show from back there?

oh, lol

"Could y'all quit lighting the grass on fire? We've got a Jonas Brothers show here tomorrow."

The lawn isn't too bad for a show there...but if you actually want to see the band, pray that they have the big-screens turned on. I was out there for NIN recently and since they weren't headlining (!), the screens weren't on. Rumour has it that there was a band or something playing off in the distance, but I couldn't swear to it.

I assume the screens are usually active for the headliner, but we didn't stick around that particular night to find out.

@Paul - yeah they turn on the screens when it gets dark...sometimes before but not usuaully.

I've been on the lawn lots of times, here and in Massachusetts...I was at some show with my aunt and there was hay in place of grass. Apparently not too long before the lawn got utterly destroyed because of Ozzfest

I was at Ozzfest in 2000 here and I remember huge bonfires in the lawn. Security would put them out and 5 minutes later, another would start up!

I forgot about that Kerry King signing...I met him once before anyways...kinda an ass if you ask me.

anyways, holy shit this show was great! I ran into Tommy, the Mexicans, Linda and her sis (also in a wheelchair) and some others. Obviously, I left before Manson came on. Fuck that shit! and I brought the gimp with me LOL he was rockin out in the wheelchair.

This is a great story: we were watching Behemoth and we stayed towards the back away from the crowd so noone would hit his leg (it was propped up) and he enjoyed their set but wasn't having the greatest time...it was hot and he couldn't see. When they ended, the crowd cleared out so we went up close to wait for Cannibal Corpse. We found a good spot where noone would hit his leg. He enjoyed that since he had a rail he could hold onto if he wanted to stand on his good leg. Then we went to the lawn to go wait for SLAYERRRR! I left for a minute and he stayed just talkin to some poeple he knew. I ran into corpsegrinder...and I brought him onto the lawn to say hi to Daniel! I think that made Daniel's summer. All I said to corpsegrinder was "My b/f is on the lawn in a wheelchair and he came here to see you guys. Can you come say hi to him?" He was so cool about it too, awesome guy. And then ofcourse Slayer kicked ass, nuff said. :P

here's the evidence:

Oneof the best shows of my life. With the execption of all the shit that went down. Behemoth was AMAZING. Cannbal Corpse I was so dumbfounded and then it happened someone punched me in the face and then I went back to headbanging and then I felt water onmy face and when I touched it I was gushing blood but it didn't bother me so I went back to headbanging and everyone started cheering at me and then the security made me leave and after yelling at them forever to let me at least watch Cannibal Corpse they made me miss them and THEN tell me I'm aloud to keep watching the show. I was yelling ALOT, but apparently alot of people took pictures of my bloody face and I had at least 10 people ask to take a picture with me. I got Corpsegrinder and Alex Webster to sign my patch. I got stitches now. Doctor says there will be a scar so my first time seeing Slayer and Cannibal Corpse and they left their mark on me. Apparently I was the talk of the concert because many people were like DUDE WERE YOU THE GUY WHO WAS PUNCHED IN THE FACE?! Even Alex Webster was like I think you should go to the doctor.
