Alright so it's been a little while since I posted this and we're halfway through 2009, but I'm still interested in doing something like this. I'm going to start trying to put something together within the next few weeks.

Any suggestions?

Hmm, are we shooting for 25 hours of metal, or doing a WREKage anniversary/benefit concert, or....?

Well not to put my 2 cents in and shit... (but I usually do anyway! lol :))
I've been listening to & enjoying WREKage and was MAJORLY influenced by so many old skool Metal bands that were played on the show, since I started listening back in 1985, when it was still called "Night Rain"! I can also remember some of the first bands I heard back then too! Venom, Slayer, Exodus, Cirith Ungol, Hallows Eve, Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Raven The Meatmen,Destruction, Exciter, Possessed, Kreator, Mercyful Fate, Nasty Savage, Black Flag, Onslaught, etc. just to name a few.
So I guess I've been w/ WREKage as a listener & a Super Fan, for a Long, Long, LONG time right y'all?! :?:

Haha, yeah you have Jimi.

I think I'm going to play all of those bands tonight if I have enough time to load them onto my ipod in between the Slayer show and WREKage.

Enjoy.

Yeah, I've been listening since '84. I was listening to the ordinanry stuff: Priest, Ozzy, Maiden, etc. and found out about Metallica, Possessed, Slayer, and so many others through this show.

WREK's "Came Without Warning" turned me on to lots of harcore and punk stuff, too.

Very fuckin' lucky to have this radio station!

Also I'm done with classes next week and will then have a two week break, so I will have a lot more time to actually work on something. Right now most of the things I come up with are just results of me being bored and daydreaming at work.

I've actually been thinking about trying to get a hardcore show on the station. I mean we have Radiobomb, but that's more punk rock. We will see...I should submit a request to have a Sunday special to gauge interest.

How do they gauge the interest? Volume of phone requests, or.....?
