yeah I'm gonna have to add some more since I last posted on here. Gene Hogland is still up there though.
Fredrik Andersson (Amon Amarth...fuckin brutal!)
Flo
Hellhammer (I've seen him a few times now with different bands...fuckin awesome!)
y'all are gonna hate me for this but I'm also gonna have to put Travis Barker here. I went to one of their shows wayyy back in the day (before I was in metal ofcourse) and I will never forget the drum solo he did. It was worth going to that show for the solo alone.
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

Hellhammer's kit sounds "fake." The drum sound on Ordo ab Chao is really really weird.

Hellhammer triggers his whole kit so it tends to sound electronic alot of times.

I wish he'd play an old Simmon's kit then.

LOL...i hear ya man..it'd make the same sound practically. the feel just wouldn't be the same though. His kit sound on that Messerschmitt band sounds super electonic also. it's a good cd though.

I don't think Hellhammer triggered his kit on the latest Winds album. It sounds pretty dynamic, but I could be wrong.

Haven't heard that album. I'm all for triggers, i use them on my bass drums. They help the clarity on kick drums. It's just when u trigger the rest of the kit without micing it as well u can get a totally electronic sound on ur toms and snare.

Call me old fashioned, but I like drums to sound like drums.
I never put a fuckin pillow or anything in my bass drum. It's a bass drum! It's not supposed to sound like a carboard box.
Bonham never put anything in his kick, but he did tape some metal flashing to the inside head so it would rattle like a motherfucker when he stomped it.

cool..it's all personal preference man. i know drummers that don't use triggers and some that do. for me it's two small pillows inside and a trigger on each kick. some of those drummers that don't use triggers when playing live, do use them when recording.

I agree with the use of triggers, when the application seems to be necessary. But I wouldn't trigger my drums for everything.
