Favorite metal album for every year of your life!

Post by Metalfreak » Thu January 21st, 2010, 12:20 am

Post 'em!

Ps - I kept it metal because all the non-metal stuff I really like was released before I was born. I also find that I can listen to a metal album (of a band I like) all the way through and like just about every song...that's not the case for bands I like in other genres imo. And you old farts will have a longer list and probably more non-metal artists/ albums in it as well! 8)

I was born in '86 so here's mine:

1986: Metallica - Master of Puppets, Slayer - Reign in Blood
1987: Death Angel - The Ultra-Violence
1988: Metallica - AJFA, Death - Leprosy, Bolt Thrower - In Battle there is no Law
1989: Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
1990: Pantera - Cowboys from Hell
1991: Benediction - The Grand Leveller, Dismember - Like an Everflowing Stream
1992: Bolt Thrower - The IVth Crusade
1993: Burzum - Aske
1994: Dimmu Borgir - For All Tid
1995: Dissection - Storm of the Light's Bane, At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
1996: Dark Funeral - The Secrets of the Black Arts, Napalm Death - Diatribes
1997: Emperor - Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk, Old Man's Child - The Pagan Prosperity
1998: Misanthrope - Libertines Humiliations
1999: Behemoth - Satanica
2000: Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper
2001: Anaal Nathrakh - The Codex Necro, Dimmu Borgir - Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, Sodom - M-16
2002: Immolation - Unholy Cult, Necrophobic - Bloodhymns
2003: Manegarm - Dodsfard
2004: Necrophagist - Epitaph
2005: Bolt Thrower - Those Once Loyal, Hypocrisy - Virus
2006: Amon Amarth - With Oden on Our Side
2007: Behemoth - The Apostasy
2008: Korpiklaani - Korven Kuningas
2009: Kreator - Hordes of Chaos
2010: ummm apparently Sigh released something yesterday. obviously haven't listened to it but I bet it's good!

Actually, I'd have a hard time thinking of albums that were released each year.

And there wasn't too much br00tal metal being produced back in the mid-60s. Ahem. Harrumph.
