I don't recall either, but yes I do. I regularly give Loveless a spin. To the horror of many, I enjoy a lot similar acts...Cocteau Twins, Magnetic Fields (pre 69 Love Songs), Broadcast, A Sunny Day In Glasgow, etc.theRothstanator wrote:I don't remember if I have asked before, but do you listen to My Bloody Valentine?

Man, I haven't listened to that one in awhile. That's one of those albums that wriggles it's way into your brain. Like Ozma or Bullhead or Young Team.MS_39455 wrote:I don't recall either, but yes I do. I cannot think of another album that has a sound that is simultaneously melancholic and joyful and demented.
A week or two ago, I found this band called Japancakes who released an entire cover album of Loveless. It's solid.Knucklehead wrote:Man, I haven't listened to that one in awhile. It did a lot of hard work back in 1991. I don't have a problem with that.V03GTLIN wrote:For those interested Kevin Shields' Fender Mustang is still in rehab for repeated problems with psilocybin and peyote.

Lordi - the Arockalypse Special Edition
More specifically, I'm watching the included DVD. I am such a sucker for monster costumes. Dedication to assclownery is huge in my book. Anyway, I don't care how cold it is in Finland, this fucker on the drums has my respect. I play in an air conditioned house with a fan on me, probably pajama pants and no shoes, and I sweat like a junkie. This hero is in full latex and a goddamned cape. You are an inspiration, Kita.

Here Comes the Waterworks is sooooooooo good. The album after that was fucking terrible though.Matt wrote: Big Business
Currently:
Vektor - Black Future
Not sure why i slept on this band for so long (especially since i've booked them 2 or 3 times in the past year or so) but i like this album a lot. I could do without the little soft guitar noodling stuff but that's besides the point. Def one of the best thrash albums from the past couple years. Dudes vocals are sick and I like that they keep the songs varied without them being boring or it seeming forced.
Impact - Take the Pain
Pretty good thrashin' but the drummer's choice of beats to play kinda irks me on some parts and turns me off to them on the whole. Razor blows them out of the water but an enjoyable listen none the less.
Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
Probably my favorite death metal album of all time... and easily one of the best ever. Chapel of fucking GHOULS!!!!!
Insect Warfare / Carcass Grinder split 7"
IW is easily the best US grindcore band in recent years. Totally crushing. Carcass Grinder ain't bad but really can't hold a candle to the sheer power of IW.
Zoroaster - Matador
GREAT ALBUM! Probably my favorite thing they've done to date. The vocals really make it.
Ramming Speed - Brainwreck
LOVE this band. Perfect mix of thrashing and Napalm Death style grinding. Up there with Vektor as one of the best new thrash bands from recent years.
SPEWTILATOR - Badass motherfuckin' street cops with nothing to lose who don't play by the rules and are out for blood.
