Middle-earth Network Radio

Post by kamal » Sat April 16th, 2011, 8:04 pm

Right, so this streaming radio site has just launched and it plays lots of fantasy/Tolkien related stuff, including music and discussion podcasts.

There's even a bit of original content and I'm happy to say I am contributing to that!

It's also available at: http://mymiddle-earth.com

I've taken the leap into next level nerdom and combined my loves of fantasy and metal to produce a podcast/radio show I'm calling 'Into The Storm' where I play lots and lots of metal to get you pumped up for orc-killing (I use the moniker 'shipwreck').

It will be airing Sunday nights at 8pm Eastern and I'd love for you guys to check it out and let me know what you think. Moreover, I'd love some suggestions.

At this point I'm kind of just playing stuff I dig and tying it into the Tolkien/fantasy format and it works: lots of Scandinavian stuff, power, death, thrash etc. But I'd really appreciate some suggestions. I've got a long list of bands I mean to feature so let me know if you've got some other bands I could throw on there.

Cheers, guys.

Cool, thanks! That is some lo-fi stuff (are they using a Casio keyboard?), but it would be nice to feature a Georgia band.

Also the show is now airing Wednesday nights, or you can listen to it streaming from this site.

If you're listening on myspace yeah it probably sounds like a casio. Haha

It was actually Roland on those and a high end yamaha on some of the later songs.

We broke up before we ever could ever finish the album so all the songs are not mixed at all and featured programmed drums.

The whole band was a failed project.

The songs sound great, it's just the key parts that distract me :)
