Demonaut was the best local band I've seen in a long time...the main singer's vocals were kind of annoying but the music ruled and the other singers sounded good.
Dark Castle was fine but they seemed kind of off to me...the vocals sounded kinda weird like Stevie was sick or something but maybe it was just me. Everything was kinda meh until Awake in Sleep, which ruled of course. I thought they were better at the Salome show. The music was fine though.
YOB was crushing. The first 3 songs just blew me away live. Atma and the Great Cessation kinda brought the set down, but the last song blew me away again. They were way better this time, than at the free Scion show.
Overall, awesome night.

Great show on part of Dark Castle and especially YOB. Mike was cool as hell to talk for a few minutes after the set as always. I didn't think the Great Cessation would be a good live song but they played it with such power that I had no problem withstanding its full 20 minutes headbanging. Turnout was smaller than expected for such a legendary band but bigger than when they played for free. Hands down the heaviest live set I've heard all year!
Glad I'm not the only one. They sounded great at the Salome show so I don't know what was up. She screams in a higher pitch on the new album but it wasn't that...it just didn't sound good.Matt wrote:it wasnt just you about dark castle vocals. sounded really terrible in my opinion for the most part. aw ra ruuuuuuuu the whole time. dont know what was up with that.
