The Cult's cool, man. I like LOVE and love their AC/DC ripoff, ELECTRIC.
Queensryche came out of the gate hard and were immediately one of the biggest letdowns ever. That's one band that took themselves
way to seriously.
The Cult is OK, there was just something sorta bogus about them to me, like they were created by Hollywood casting agent or something. Love is a cool post deathrock album but really only has one stellar track. Then suddenly they are all rocker hard for the next album or two. I can dig hearing their tunes, but never really crave them if you know what I mean. Just my opinion, so many folks put them way up on a pedestal (not saying you, Stew) and I've just never felt that way.

It's just so tempting to spill the beans and call dibs on that free beer, but I think I'm gonna hold off.

I saw the Cult on that tour. Ian Astbury was drunk. He fell down. Apparently, he coudn't hang with Alcoholica.
According to the Encyclopedia Metallica, a certain member of this very forum saw Metallica on August 25, 1983, opening for a Raven. A free beer to the person that can guess!
Hey! We should move this to THE HALL OF KINGS!!!
Tommy the Red. This one for all the chips.
Me? Only in spirit. I had just traded my diaper for big kid pants and a pair of combat boots in August of '83.

Oh shit. It was Paul?!
Yeah, Kay, I hear what yr saying about the Cult. They ARE bogus. Eighty percent of the riffs on Electric are lifted from Angus !

He stoked beyond belief. He was all, "PLAY IT NOOOOOW!" I was all, "huh?" That was my introduction to Metallica and it was good.
Sorry, I don't know Jimi.

Tommy already answered this one.

You're a good man, BMcG.

Jimi is on here as DarkLordViper666 or something like that.
Hmm...I have a guess on this one. Is he from the land of steers and queeers?

Here's a documentary on the documentary. Man, does Lars ever take anything not overly seriously? Apparently, their arrowhead shaped stage was the greatest innovation since internal combustion.

Now see, that makes it difficult. I think BC technically asnwered before you did, but you said his name. I guess that makes it a draw.
Sam told me that there were 40 people there. (*facepalm*). That musta been a helluva show.
EDIT: I see you lurking, Sleyja.

It was more like 25 - 30 people - and half of them were from out of town. Stood in front of Cliff Burton the whole show and got a high five. A couple weeks later Legs Diamond and The Godz (? I think) played the same club and sold out the place.

Remind me to shake your hand (specifically the hand with which you high fived Cliff Burton) so I might know a glimmer of the awesomeness that is you.
