I've actually never really tried anything aged, unless I bought something old where it wasn't intentional. It's hard to age stuff in my parents house and my new apartment in Tennessee. I'll wait till I get my own place in a few years and I wanna start cellaring and stuff if possible.egg yolkeo wrote:ya ipa's and ris's are perfect for aging because of the huge hops and alcohol.Only beer that didnt age well for me was a terrapin wake n bake but I think it was the coffee in there that went stale, sucks because that is a great beer.
List your current favorite beer and review it.

so publix has this brewmaster's choice thingy goin where u can pick 6 beers for $9.99 which really isnt the best deal unless you do what I did and get the stronger more expensive beers. Here's what I snagged.

All but the DFH india brown ale came outta the fridge and all the DFH have freshness dates from this year which is important especially if its not refrigerated. The DFH 90 ipa is $9.99 for a four pack so six of it would be a steal.Drink good beer![/img]

That's not a bad deal...I saw that at a Publix once but they don't have them at all of em. Wish they did.
I like the 60 Minute a lot...one of my favorite beers. I don't like the alcohol burn w/ the 90 Minute so I won't drink one again unless it's free or something. I wanna try the Indian Brown and the Torpedo...but you can get those anywhere so I'll wait a little while.
I got $35 saved up for either my first trip to Green's or Hop City next weekend. Can't wait to check them out.

hop city is like a beer library,by far the best.Be sure to check out 5 seasons brewing/restaurant next door.
You do get a little better deal with cash at greens just not as good of a selection but still great.Hop city has the make you own sixer to but they charge for each individual beer so it gets pricey.

Does Green's have mix a 6? That's mainly what I want so if Green's doesn't even have that I'm going to Hop City.egg yolkeo wrote:hop city is like a beer library,by far the best.Be sure to check out 5 seasons brewing/restaurant next door.

Be sure to pick out a good 22 0z or two, their well worth the price. The store owner is really helpful to.

Green's has tons of singles, but I don't know about the mixed sixers. All the singles may have to be larger than 12 oz because of that absolutely ridiculous law banning the sales of individual 12 oz-ers.
I don't recall if this has been mentioned on here before, but Whole Foods now has a pretty killer deal on growlers and they also do mixed sixers for $9.99.

What are you talking about? I've bought individual 12 oz-ers recently. Is this new?badcarburetor wrote:Green's has tons of singles, but I don't know about the mixed sixers. You've bought individual 12 bottles/cans in GA or in the City of Atlanta?
Unless it was recently repealed individual sale of 12oz-ers (and maybe 16oz-ers, too) was forbidden. Kinda goofy how that law made folks buy larger single servings.
That law is why many places started doing mixed six packs as a way to let customers sample and to sell off individual 12oz-ers that were separated from their six or twelve packs in the course of doing business.

So it's only in Atlanta?

Ruination = bottled awesome! Shame it's so expensive. I have to save it for special occasions along with the Double Bastard.GameFreac wrote:Just drank the Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier and the Ruination.
The Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier was one of the best beers I've ever had. Nothing about it blows you away. It's just a great, light beer with a great mouthfeel I've never felt from a beer before that just tastes damn good. It's not a light beer but it just doesn't feel heavy or make you full.
The Ruination was an amazing IPA. I expected it to blow me away with hops but the Hop Wallop I had a few weeks ago was way hoppier. Still, it was really good. I'm glad it wasn't like the Hop Wallop because that was too hoppy. Another one of my favorite IPAs now (DIPA if you wanna get techincal).
I tried some of the Newcastle Werewolf last night. Good stuff. If you've ever wished Newcastle had just a tad more bite, well, that's pretty much it. A little darker, more of a roasted flavor. Pretty tasty.
Also, at Con I learned the joys of room temp Guiness for breakfast. Not something I can indulge in on weekdays, but this will definitely happen for the occasional lazy weekend.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!
I need to try that Newcastle Werewolf. Newcastle is one of my favorite beers and your description sounds excellent.
