I can't say I was never a fan. I used to like And Justice For All, damn near played that cassette on my walkman until it turned to dust back when I was in school. Black Album came out back when I was middle school I think. Always thought that was a terrific album, still do I guess. But around maybe 94 or 95 I think it was when Load (of shit) came out, I can remember when they started playing the "Until It Sleeps" single a month or two before the album was released. I remember thinking, "Man... this sounds a little different... I don't think I like where this is going." And yeah, that album was crap. Every album since then has been crap too.

I watched some thing on VH1Classic a few months ago about the Big 4 tour with Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer. At the very end, they called everyone out to a final song, some cover. NO ONE from Slayer joined them on stage. I enjoyed that VERY much. Not the cover, the fact that Slayer was completely absent from the stage. Hopefully they have the good sense not to depress their fans by playing with a bunch of has-been hacks like Metallica and Megadeth. Never was a fan of Anthrax, but I've loathed both Megadeth and Metallica since the mid 90's. Glad as hell to see that Slayer hasn't pussed out in their old age. They've put out shit since the 90's that actually makes their older stuff sound pretty tame. God Hates Us All was an AWESOME album, full of MILES AND MILES of rage. Tom Araya hasn't been able to scream that mean since that album. Christ Illusion and World Painted Blood were both pretty good too, but I always thought that Paul Bostaph was a little more interesting on drums. Lombardo is obviously a great drummer, don't wanna talk shit on him, but Bostaph had a more unique and intricate style I think.

My favorite Bostaph on drums Slayer tune:

It's easy. Slayer would never put out some faggy bullshit like this:

<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Xn01nSG4cvU?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Xn01nSG4cvU?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Only Megadeth album I ever thought was half-way listenable was Countdown To Extinction. Just my opinion.

I don't understand why you would be proud of that....the first 4 records are some of the best albums ever.
Tried to get into them. Couldn't.

yeah, instead of a thought out song that became classic, they put out boring bullshit old man punk rock and can't put on a live show anymore. Endgame crushes slayers past 3 releases IMO bro. And if you can't get in to any of their earlier material before countdown, then i just don't know what to say! haha

ALL they do is tour anymore. That's a big reason why they've only put out 2 albums since God Hates Us All back in 99 or 2000, they've been on the road CONSTANTLY. Probably two or three times as many dates played since 2000 than Megadeth. And their shows usually run longer than 2 hours. And they still sound heavier than Megadeth ever has. Not bad for 4 old farts who should be dead of cirrhosis by now.

Today is the 15th anniversary of Cliff's death so instead of this, just blast the fuck out of Ride the Lightning.

World Painted Blood is a good album. Myth debunked. 8)

I don't like it as much God Hates Us All, but I still like it. I just like Slayer, anything they do sounds good to me. Some people like whiskey, some people like scotch, and some people don't like to drink at all. To me, Megadeth tastes like shit.

I liked Master of Puppets better. I wonder... if Cliff Burton had survived, would he have allowed the other members of the band to cut their hair and put out Load? Or would he have murdered them all by bashing their heads in with a broken toilet seat to save the world from their awful music?

personally im with GameFreac on this one. i mean... i was a fan a while back but they just get sooo much more credit than they deserve. sure they helped start something, but i think that's where they should have ended too, after ride the lightning. kill em all and ride the lightning were good but do get old over time. fucking hated master and justice was cool but nothing really special to me.

not like i think the first albums totally sucked or anything, but i just think there were far better bands doing the same thing in the 80s
