Seems to make sense. Scion seems to support metal fair handedly-hipster or not- so why not take advantage? Besides, new ep rules, can't wait for a full length!

Class act, was nothing but polite when we ran into him at MDF.

Ross Dolan is the fucking man. Hes a super cool dude and Immolation has always been excellent. That interview was pretty cool. Its just straight up and no BS just like Immolation.

I hear rumors of criticism about what Scion is doing. I went to the festival, bud sadly wasn't able to make it to the shows here. Nonetheless, it sounds like they aren't asking the artists to do anything except be themselves. I don't really see the issue.

Most of the criticism I've heard has been directed at Magrudergrind and Wormrot in the form of there being a ton of underground labels that actually give a shit about grindcore that would love to put out their music but instead they let some huge car company put it out who don't give 2 shits about the music or scene and are only doing it as a marketing ploy.

I can see it from both sides... I agree that it's bullshit in that regard but at the same time being able to record, manufacture, and distribute your music 100% free would be really nice... though realisticly MG and Wormrot are on the level to have labels put their shit out for them anyway. I think it's awesome that they did so much for Immolation with tour support etc. and I'm sure that's being done for Wormrot as well but there's definitely a difference between a fairly big metal band like Immolation doing that and MG or Wormrot when grind is so rooted in the DIY aesthetic. It just reeks of "selling out" especially for a band like MG that has been going as long as they have.

Thought the new EP was crap, but good for them.
