After hearing about it for years, I recently watched the film of his one man show about Jesus Christ: Jesus Christus Erlöser. It's weird enough to see him waxing Deutsch about the Son of Man and demand humility from the world, but it quickly spirals into total chaos when the audience starts heckling hardcore by about twenty minutes into his monologue. By the end the entire theater is booing and demanding their money back as he makes his final enraged exit from the stage by slamming the mic on the ground and storming off screaming and swearing at his audience. Pure gold.
whats everyone currently listening to????

Indeed. That's when I first learned of that uber komisch monologue about his lord and saviour.Knucklehead wrote:You all have seen "My Best Fiend", ya? I have to admit I've never even seen the movie. I discovered the soundtrack playing Red Dead Revolver years ago, and have been obsessed with that genre of music ever since.Diana wrote:Klaus Kinski + Werner Herzog. I'm so afraid. Wolf knows where I am.
Never been into video games much, but I gotta give a major nod to that one. A lot of the films from that soundtrack are difficult to find (and for good reason at times). There were a ton of mediocre spaghetti/zapata westerns from that era, but almost anything directed by any of the Sergios (Leone, Sollima, and Corbucci) are untouchable in my book. Run Man Run, The Great Silence, Compeneros, Django, Death Rides a Horse (different director, but still awesome), Duck You Sucker, My Name is Nobody (the best of the Trinity movies), Fist Full of Dollars, just to name a few. I think the soundtracks had as much to do with the atmosphere and just plain old damn coolness as any of the cinematography or acting did. Enter Ennio Morricone, Bruno Nicola, etc.Rickenbastard wrote:I have to admit I've never even seen the movie. I promise to shut the fuck up about this now. I'd start an Italian western thread but it would just turn into my own personal worship rant.
The Great Silence and Fistful of Dynamite (AKA Duck You Sucka) get the v'man's personal asshole merit badge.

Have at it. I'd be happy to learn more about this genre. I've only skimmed it, but generally have enjoyed anything I've seen.
I'm sure you went to the Plaza screenings of the Man with No Name Trilogy last year. I love that place, for just those kinds of reasons.

Funny how so many people seem to think that yet, it's one of the more under rated albums at the same time.
