You should try to make it out tonight, SV. For shits and giggles, if for nothing else.

Ha ha ha. Noooooooooooooo way.

I got Chuck Norris' Silent Rage, some Jiffy Pop, and a 30-pack of Keystone Light. I'm not going anywhere tonight.

Now that sounds like a "ritual".

Don't mess with TDB or they will lay a curse on your ass.

Meh.

Arrived at 9:15 and caught the last song of Watain's set. I didn't know that Maiden was doing a sneak tour of N. America in corpsepaint. Most importantly, there was no stench. Fuckin' sellouts.

Behemoth had the crowd, no question: but, the overtly premeditated choreography ruined it for me. ("now we stand here, now I run over here."). Perhaps naively, I thought black metal and death metal were supposed to be dangerous. Extreme. Something.

I can respect a guy that wants to shit his pants on stage. I can't respect a band that wants to be Mötley Crüe, dressed up as blackened death, or whatever.

NastyNate -- good to meet you.

Knucklehead, good to meet you too man. I never seem to hang out with enough of you guys in person. Also MetalFreak, good to see you too.

Devils Blood was awesome during their B.O.C./Dio moments, but I didn't dig the extended wank sessions so much live. Maybe listening at home would be different, but I go to shows to rock, not meditate.

Watain felt more like Dimmu Borgir playing hard rock songs than the BM band I remember seeing.

Behemoth put on a great show as usual. Am I going deaf, or were they kind of quiet at first?

Hey - the Wutain Clan ain't nothin to fuck with.

I got there during the last Devil's Blood song, but:

However I was sad about the lack of rotting animal. Maybe when you're not the highest band on the tour totem pole you don't have as much pull?

The two guys next to me after every Behemoth song: "Hoooolllllyyyy shhiiitt, duuude." Also has Orion been pumping a little iron? Was he that big three or four years ago when they came through? Also Seth kept licking his guitar which was hilarious.

Okay, I've had three hours of sleep. Time for a nap on the desk.

I remember Behemoth being so much better the last time I saw them.

Watain without the stench just isn't the same either.

When I showed up to the Masq at around 5:30 or so, he was by the bus bench pressing. So, yep.
