POLL: Just Curious....

Tell me what you think:

If we had a DIY venue that was our own (ie: the Warehouse) but it was located in Hapeville, Would you go out to shows there on a regular basis?

Hapeville is located 7 minutes from downtown, via 75 South, near the original dwarf house chick fila. Hapeville is inside the perimeter and 6 minutes away from the airport.

I am pretty much a combination between the Yes and Maybe because I would definitely go to the shows I like. Don't care about seeing bands that I think suck. It's not that far out of the way at all.

I would go to hapeville shows if a band i liked was playing there. it's closer than atlanta for me. actually sorta grew up around hapeville since my best friend lived there. weird area. no more ghetto than atlanta, i suppose.

I always prefer shows in town, but wouldn't have a problem driving a few miles for a band that I really wanted to see.

I would lean more towards no. I would go if it's a favorite band playing, but I wouldn't go there casually like I often do with shows at places like 529 or Wonderoot. I agree with Slutrag as far as that it's a "weird area." It's basically Forest Park/Riverdale...

I have a feeling that, if it was perceived as the successor to the Warehouse, it would end up becoming quite popular. Hapeville isn't any further from my house than the Warehouse was.

I always have to drive 45 minutes-an hour for every show so if there were good bands, 7 more minutes wouldn't kill me.

And if it's near the fucking Dwarf; that's a plus.

Doesnt take me that long to get to atlanta but yeah I don't really care for the extra few minutes of a drive to see a good show.

This.

I'll also put it out there that if the venue rules then people will make the trip. 585 wasn't necessarily successful because it was in town (though closer is always better) it was mostly successful because of the way it was run.
