Atlanta Metal Venues
Hey All,
I am almost convinced by the other part of myself that I am going to ask you quite a stupid question, but here it is...
For a little alien like me who is coming from Eastern Europe and try to find people to hang out, is quite difficult to define(or recognize) certain spots, except the event nights, say as tomorrow's(Skeletonwitch).
So I was wondering where I can go tonight, just like that. To have some drinks even if there is no any event going on, I'll be happy to have my bourbon in a hole with metal heads and a Death or Malevolent Creation on the stereo at the background.
Please advice!
Thanks

I was literally about to post this exact thread, haha, but with an additional question... is there a particular bar(s) (or house/warehouse/whatever) that local bands frequently play? I've mentioned before that I recently moved here from RI, and I guess I'm just really missing things like biweekly "metal night" at the bar, or constant small shows at warehouses.
The upcoming shows list just seems free of any cheap local band type things.

That's nice!
I thought my topic will be bypassed like a shitville...
For couple of hour off of my comp I see that it worth it to try.
As you can see my registration is from '09.
At the beginning was just back and forth, but lately dwelled here, I decided to finally post that question.
Atlanta apparently have good schedule, and beside putting together Cannibal Copse with some little-girl-metal-core band on the same hall, seems to me there are good people out there I could probably meet not just for drink or two. Not as it happened few times, some people not to say anything next time seeing each other on the events.
Will stop with my sadness here
Here is the thing, I can't attend to all events due to my frequent traveling, but at the same time don't like to be stuck at home...

I was only wondering about unposted shows bc I saw on 5spot's calendar, and not here, that Order of the Owl & SOT are playing soon.
I update the concert sticky Monday - Friday. Feel free to make a thread about any show that you know about that's not already listed in the sticky. That's probably the best way of informing us anything that we may have missed. I regularly check websites for the Unicorn, 529, The Earl, Masq, etc. but as Brian said, some do fall through the cracks.Brian wrote:We try to add everything, but sometimes shows slip by. Thanks for the heads up.

Don't forget El Myr in L5P as a good hangout and crank the juke or listen to the DJs while getting housed spot.Brian wrote:Your two best bets for finding bars with metalheads are:
Jack's Pizza and Wings - 676 Highland Avenue Northeast
and
The Highlander - 931 Monroe Circle Northeast
They aren't metal bars, but a large amount of metalheads hang out at both.
