Hahahahahahaha

This place has one very VERY big problem though; the music. I am a fan of all kinds of music and I even enjoy some heavy stuff but this place appears to only play heavy metal at full blast so loud that you cannot even hear the person next to you talk. It does not stop either. The entire time we were eating the music was full blast in our ears. We felt like we were being water boarded with each song ending and a worse one beginning.

So why would I rate it at 2 stars? There is one looming issue that cannot be ignored.. the music.. constant heavy metal (or whatever it is) loud, screaming, incoherent music that literally makes your skin crawl and renders your ability to relax or have a conversation with your friends virtually impossible. It would be one thing if they played it at a reasonable volume but it is played full blast to the point that you cannot hear the person sitting next to you.

It's been a while since I been there. I have the strangest urge to hit them back up.

That rules!

I actually wish more family friendly restaurants would blast metal at high volumes. One time I showed up there with my kids in tow (yeah, I know, parent of the fucking year). Anyway, it was great! They could be as loud/silly/rambunctious as they wanted and I didn't have to worry about disturbing anyone. haha

And this, https://www.I_LOVE_ZUCKERPENIS.com/events/423891454365870/
We're so excited to be in Atlanta to film bits for the upcoming season of Drunk History on Comedy Central!

Join us Wednesday, February 27th at The Highlander to have some drinks, hang out, and if you'd like - hop on camera with us to talk about Atlanta!

We'll be ready to shoot promptly at 7:30pm so plan on arriving before then. See you soon!
I checked out a few clips. Not bad. I wonder if the actors like Will Ferrell will actually be there or just crew from the show looking to recruit drunks.

Hey, Strange, bring your kids to the highlander tonight and get 'em on TV. Then you'd win Parent of the Year.

A friend of mine in Alabama just asked me to recommend a place in Atlanta with a "rock/metal" vibe to take her 16 year old son. Only thing I could think of is Jacks because everything I can think of is 18+ or 21+. Anyone got any ideas?

"Alright kids, drink your whiskey!"

"But dad, it tastes terrible!"

"Son, no one likes a bitch. Now man-up and do your shot!"

...wow, I really am turning into my father. haha

The Drunk History thing at Highlander last night was weird. I walked in and the manager said it was all people she'd never seen before and was sure would never come back in again.

It was in the back room where we usually hang and was fully lit, which was weird to me of course. And FULL of people. All kind of standing around waiting, with drinks in hand. A guy with a boom mic aimed at a table of people talking. A girl handing out forms. So I had my look and went back to the front room.

I showed up there when they were filming for Diners Drive Ins and Dives and the front room was lit up bright as hell. I had no idea what was going on when I walked in the door. It was bizarre.
