New Ghost record Infestissumam

Post by TheKshatriya » Fri April 19th, 2013, 2:44 am

At first I wasnt as pleased as I had hoped I would be, but after listening to it pretty much constantly for the past few days Im really liking it a lot.

It doesnt have the Mercyful Fate influence I really liked a lot on Opus, but its really growing on me. Definitely a step up musically.

I don't get the attraction of Ghost. I didn't with the first one and gave that sample that was released about 45 seconds and I realized it wasn't my cup of tea.

Maybe I'll be kicking myself in another two years, but it all seems pretty contrived and mediocre, to me.

very disappointing, ...is putting it mildly , it reminds me of Uriah Heap's Abominog album if it had a few more limp power ballads on it, and I'm a fan of real singing and melody as well, the main ghoul dudes voice sound very thn even with the million dollar production.

I really like that there are no other bands that sound like them right now. They are trying to be a huge act, not so much an underground metal band which is cool too.

I can see how people wouldnt like them but if you look past the gimmick I think the music is great too.

Infestissumam just wasnt what I was expecting but I love it now.

I haven't spun this one yet, but I love the schtick. It's pretty throwback to when bands were big and majestic. Nothing wrong with a good gimmick.

Great record. It's really grown on me a lot. It is not metal and should not be looked at as a metal album. It's pop and I love it.

Im only digging a few songs on that album. ALL songs on opus are shwiiing !!! But I am not bashing just saying I am a little let down, however some of my all time favirot music I hated at first and it had to grow on me and once it does... time will tell. By the way I posted this same shit in "the toilet" before i seen this post so if someone could delete that pls...

So far I definitely prefer the first album, but I'm giving this time to grow on me and really hope that it does.

However...when I got my vinyl in I set up and sat down ready to be blown away. Then I got up and checked the setting on my stereo and tried again. I did this again and then swapped out a couple other records and went back to that Ghost album and still thought that it sounded like a muddy mess while everything else I spun sounded really good. I'm not catching the million dollar production. And I tried the 320 MP3 version, too. Hmm...

Oh, and this morning I spun April Wine's Nature of the Beast. If you have any doubt where Ghost found their sound give Sign of the Gypsy Queen a spin.
