they played around a good bit as THE REMNANT. TSU played a show or two with them and i saw them play quite a few times other than that. i'm pretty sure that they played with Integrity too.

and yeah dan, i heard me some DT. i went up to wrekage the night that sonny and the vocalist, i can't remember his name, were debuting the music on the radio. and jonathon was harping on how there wasn't any brutal metal in atlanta and how glad he was to hear some.

they were the remnant, and they didnt really play the "known " clubs being a christian band. alot of the christian scene slides under the metal radar that way. we played with the remnant at nine lives. blew my mind.

I still don't remember these dudes.

It really, seriously fucking annoys me how the Christian scene completely segregates itself from the rest of the scene due to religion.
You'd think that shit like Norma Jean being so big would give some of those bands a goddamn clue and they'd come out from under the rock they're under.

Regardless, this band rips.

They were awesome.

I think Christian labels intentions are good, they are just a little bit segregated like Holly said. I would think they would WANT to get signed to a secular label to get the message out. It doesn't do much good to sing about JESUS to a crowd that already knows about him. (In theory) They would need to get shows with secular bands to expose the word to those that hear it the least.

the remnant played as much as they could. they had just got started playing a lot when they got signed to solid state though, thats why you probably never heard them. they actually played the set that TSU was going to play at a festival we couldn't make it to when they got signed.

i agree that its annoying when christian bands segregate themselves and i'm a christian. but in all fairness its actually really hard to get certian shows if people know you're a christian or a christian band or whatever. i've had problems getting TSU booked on shows before due to the majority of the band being christians. sounds silly and it indeed is, but thats how it goes.

Burial Rites played one of our first shows with them (The Remnant) in 2003 at a Battle of The Bands at Swayzes. Signs of Dying and Kshatriya played too, and I think that's where I first met Blaze.

abwhore was the best. Lilitu is amazing, they were kinda weird for a while, but i like them again. there was some rad locals in the early 90's but i can't remember their names now.

yeah, I'm fed up with the so called "christian" scene. immature and mediocre. there are some very rare exceptions though. like believer and old Vengeance Rising. some other bands got some good recognition too, but the whole so called "scene" is lame and narrow minded.

orcrist was good too and Unblessed too! there was some band live on wrekage a long time ago that did a cover of "Devil went down to Georgia" metal style. it was off the hook. i wish i knew there name

I see no difference in the "Christian" bands or the bands that decorate themselves with Pentagrams and claim to be "Satanists". The Satanists don't like christians and seclude themselves also but I don't see anyone bringing that up.

yeah, it's pretty funny. the majority of those so called "christian" bands are just "protestant" bands. you won't see many liturgically minded people in those bands, but i still dig some of them. old Extol is real good. believer of course, very very OLD tourniquet, old living sacrifice, antestor... veni domine... i don't like calling them "Christian" because they are just entertainers. that's it. musicians. those distinctions are lame.

antestor had hellhammer play drums for them. not really what i call 'christian' though. no big deal. whatever...

i'm listening to Force of Evil now with former members of Mercyful Fate and K. Diamond... amazing stuff. the best i've heard in a long time. ripping!
