Csejthe - Réminiscence
Decided to check this band out in preparation for the upcoming MARE show I'm going to in Chicago. Not my usual style of BM, but this one hits me in all the right ways. It's been on repeat all morning long.
In Solitude - Sister
Really fucking great. Very different from their past two outputs. If you've written this band off, try this. If you're a fan of the first two, you might not dig this one. I worship all three albums and think they are the best Metal band on the planet.
Ascencion - With Burning Tongues
Still good. It's a shame the LP was so forgettable.
Grave Miasma - Odori Sepulcrorum
Complete darkness. Very good record and a more than worthy debut.

I listened to the title track. Is it all like that? No more Mercyful Fate?Brian wrote: In Solitude - Sister

No more Mercyful Fate. The title track is one of the weakest.melkor wrote:I listened to the title track. Is it all like that? No more Mercyful Fate?Brian wrote: In Solitude - Sister

Holy fuck. This made me listen...I should have followed what you did. I lasted about a minute too long.MS_39455 wrote:You stopped just in time.Knucklehead wrote:Satyricon -- "Phoenix". After reading about this song for awhile, curiosity finally got the better and I found it on YouTube. Wow. I clicked "stop" after about 45 seconds.
I thought I did...but the CD has two versions on it.MS_39455 wrote:You stopped just in time.Knucklehead wrote:Satyricon -- "Phoenix". After reading about this song for awhile, curiosity finally got the better and I found it on YouTube. Wow. I clicked "stop" after about 45 seconds.

Okay, instead of a radio station or a record store you could have Bad Carburetor's Listening Room/Museum and turn it into a bar. Instead of a juke box folks would have to plunk down cash on you to fire up your turn table. Beers would be cheap, of course.badcarburetor wrote:A lot of that is Spotify. It's an awesome try-it-before-you-buy-it interface, like bandcamp. I could do a pretty serious record store with the vinyl, but that addiction has way too strong of a grip on me.Moloc wrote:You need to start your own radio station with all that music.

The last time you criticized Satyricon ("Age of Nero = black metal lite") you told me later that I should have told you to "just shut up and listen." I'm not going to tell you that this time.Knucklehead wrote:Satyricon -- "Phoenix". After reading about this song for awhile, curiosity finally got the better and I found it on YouTube. Wow. This statement implies that she turns it off. To my knowledge, that has never happened.Moloc wrote:Okay, instead of a radio station or a record store you could have Bad Carburetor's Listening Room/Museum and turn it into a bar. Once we figure out if the thing has an off switch, this idea is brill. Count me in.
Satyricon is far from my favorite black metal bands...but holy fuck I wasn't expecting the singing... It reminds me of the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. It has that feel to me.Knucklehead wrote:Ha!Moloc wrote:The last time you criticized Satyricon ("Age of Nero = black metal lite") you told me later that I should have told you to "just shut up and listen." The other official release "Our World, It Rumbles Tonight" is basically what I expect from them. The other one...wow, that should have been a side project.

Sepultura - Morbid Visions
Sepultura - Schizophrenia
Sepultura - Beneath The Remains
Artillery - Terror Squad
Inquisition - Invoking The Majestic Throne Of Satan
Unleashed - Across The Open Sea
Unleashed - Shadows In The Deep
Unleashed - Sworn Allegiance
Unleashed - Warrior
Unleashed - Where No Life Dwells
I don't even know why I ever bother to listen to any other Unleashed album besides Where No Life Dwells. I mean, it's good stuff, but that is the only album I ever really REALLY want to hear when I want to listen to Unleashed.
