welcome, do you play anything?SunofNorthernDarkness wrote:Howdy Everyone,
My name is Danny and I just moved to Atlanta. Just looking to make some friends and hang with some awesome people. I already saw that the Highlander, 529, & the Earl are where the metalheads hang. Any other places where people congregate? Aside from Black Metal my favorite metal is stuff like Sludge, Stoner, pretty much anything that grooves and is influenced by that NOLA sound. I'm originally from NYC and I'm 29. Either way, I'll be checking out that show list and I'll definitely be hanging around. I look forward to meeting some of you.

Star Bar is a cool place. Not always metalheads hanging out there, but there are some metal shows now and again.Sarita wrote:Hey guys!
I finally settled in Atlanta and discovered that Little 5 Points is not far from my home. Is there any bar at this place you can recommend where you can have just a drink or two and get to know new people?
And is anyone going to the Little 5 Points Halloween Thing? Is it worth a look?
Welcome!
Hello folks. Just moved to Atlanta in August from near Houston. Having a hard time finding a/the metal scene, but this site is the best thing I've found so far!
I'll definitely be at the Ectovoid/Cemetery Filth show. Maybe the Slayer/Exodus/ST show as well, not sure. I listen to a lot of black, death, trad/heavy/speed, thrash, and a decent amount of doom and power. Everything, but lots of black/death/heavy these days.
If anybody posts over at M-A, I go by the same name, been on there a long time. 24 years old, moved here (Carrollton/West Georgia actually) for grad school in psychology. Actually writing a paper on live black metal right now

Hahah, maybe someday after lots of editing. There's already some pretty good published stuff! I liked this essay, making some similar arguments:

Hello! I'm from Macon and have only just lately started getting more involved in the local metal scene. (Despite that Macon doesn't appear to have much of one.) I listen to a lot of sludge/stoner/doom, thrash, a little death, and have been tentatively trying out grind. I figured joining the forum was as good a way as any to find some new cool local stuff to listen to.
I don't play any instruments or anything, but I do help a friend of mine run a local zine, so that's been kinda fun.
Nice to meet y'all!
